But of course The Nenshi and his provincial gang of fools along with Heather McPherson- an Alberta NDP MP who is also running for Jughead Singh's old " job"- are in full out attack mode over Smith's plan implement this type of care in Alberta.
The NDP and their union arms could care less about expedient care and are more concerned with supporting their unions.
Thr solution is immediate downsizing of buracrats and costs not relative to hands on care. Same problem across the board, too much government at the trough.
Other countries have them and they basically work.
More public funds thrown at bureaucrats and unions has not and will not work.

Canada's complicit political class (not all but most) must admit there is a problem and the systems are very, very broken, dysfunctional and themselves sick.
If government had an ounce of financial sense, or actually any sense at all, they’d look at some successful EU countries to see how and why health care is so successful there. Government funds are paid out AFTER a procedure and care are done…..not lump sum before! Administrative pocket lining with funding that’s doled out in a chunk here in Canada is run just like our corrupt government - top heavy CEO’s and admin staff salaries that leave little to funnel down to actual patient medical care!
I would say we need to take THE UNION out if health care. They are a very big part if why our system is failing. NOBODY GETS FIRED FOR NOT DOING THEIR JOB!
Great article on “Activity Based Funding’/“ABF” for Health Care. The example of Switzerland, Netherlands, and Germany is so helpful. I think Premier Danielle Smith is going in right direction with her plan for Health Care in Alberta.
I think if the government was not embezzeling, or over populating the system with burocrats we would be fine! After all we do spend a large amount of money on health care, or so they say!
