This rationing is the reason an otherwise healthy tax contributing member of society must wait years for surgery for an injury that seriously impacts quality of life as well as ability to work to their potential. The mixed model where service is expanded where demand exists, and those who can pay up front can and are reimbursed by the ‘single payer’ source would ultimately cost less as funding follows the patient (who chooses the best service) allowing the system to thrive.

Health care funding should be based on value of services provided to customers/patients. Current budget system should only keep faculty lights/heat on. Wages to only be funded based on services delivered to customers/patients.
