Are you freaking kidding me???

One step ahead of Ottawa's 100M subvention to crickets companies such Aspire Food International based in Ontario for human consumption.

And why is the gov deciding what we eat ?

why is the gov deciding what we eat ?

This is not talked about enough. To much focus on whether a restriction works, not on the right to restrict. Lightbulbs, why is the govt. restricting lightbulbs.

Isn't that obvious?

Cuz de gubmint be good an' you ain't!

William Stewart's avatar

You will own nothing.

You will eat bugs.

You will not be able to afford food.

But you will be happy...

Except for the "happy" part.

Read any given WEF document.

Then go ask an arrogant, fraud of a PM who was a WEF Principle about this article.

Watch the body language and the cringe factor escalate.

That is if you can find him for as with his predecessor.

OUT OF THE COUNTRY ...

Ner Ther's avatar

What was it that Klaus said about the infiltration of our Government. Oh ya, over half of Wef members have now infiltrated the Canadian Government. And you still think we citizens stand a chance. Thank GOD it was brought to light by people in the know and care about this country. Can you imagine the damage this present Government has done. It will take decades to correct the wrongs. If we ever get a chance to do so.

William Stewart's avatar

Sadly though...

Too many low intelligence Canadians who still refuse to understand that the largest threat to what used to be Canada are not the all too many terrorist groups who have infiltrated us but the enemy in plain view.

Carney and the Liberal Government on Canada.

Thanks William. Truth matters.

Why is our beloved Government allowing supply management in our beef industry?? Are we bowing to China so that our own people have to eat bugs or cloned meat?

WHO IS REALLY CONTROLLING THE MARKET??

Robyn Grater's avatar

With all this 'news' about introducing 'cloned meat' in Canada, I'm wondering if the federal government will 'gaslight' the masses by keeping the cloned meat on the downlow and selling it at cheaper prices, while keeping the 'good, genuine article' at a higher price so people will be encouraged to by the cloned... pretty shifty, if that's the case!

David James's avatar

This government feels empowered. All things are possible....not necessarly honest.

Ner Ther's avatar

Really? You need to question that?

Connie Clifford's avatar

The whole point is to keep prices high to discourage the masses from eating beef. Then they can feed us the bugs, starting with the poor who have fewer choices to start. Then they can slip in the lab meat and those people will be greatful for the almost meat!

Ruth Bard's avatar

Here's a wild idea: how about govt get TF out of the way and let the market decide prices?

Ner Ther's avatar

I have a better idea. How about we force the Government out of the way by voting responsibly, by doing our homework and knowing what and who we are voting for. There is no way in hell the present Government will get out of the way on their own. Think about what that would mean for their ability to line their pockets through corruption.

This prick carney wants us broke and hungry because we will be easier to control

We have plenty of beef for our own market. Truck loads and train loads leave for the US everyday. The demand is that high. How did this guy with foreign meat in storage get it into the country with out inspection and proper paper. If he had that all done there would have been no problem getting it sold. Something very suspicious about that.

Tatanka's avatar

I got to agree, who really knows what source of meat this is and where it came from.?

There is plenty Alberta beef around to sustain Canada with meat.

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

Yes, but a hell of lot of it is shipped south. I used to travel by the Cargill plant at high river. Steady stream of loaded trucks head out of there for the US. They load onto railcars too. It would appear that more than 50% laves the country.

Tatanka's avatar

Yes, this plant is American owned to start with but if our Eastern neighbours don't want it then i guess it goes south.

But who wants to eat hamburger that can contain meat from a thousand different animals anyway,.i sure as hell won't eat that and certainly not when one sees who are working in that plant. I don't trust muslims, do you?

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

I got news for you. They're everywhere. For sure don't go to Tim Horton's. We have many restaurants in or town. Almost all of them are operated by moslem and east Indians. The food is horrible crap. I don't go to any of them. Only two places left in the town, that they don't run. The A&W and one of the hotels. The A&W is the cleanest in the territory, and service by Philippinos. They are excellent.

Tatanka's avatar

I know, I never set foot in any of these places anymore.

A&W in my town is also taken over by muslims, i despise these fuckers with a passion.

The only restaurant we still visit maybe twice a year is a chinese one.

If it wasn't for my wife i would not set foot in one of those anymore either. The fucking shit makes me drowsy.

Communism is already here. Wake up Canadians your dumb asses are being baked.

RobertM's avatar

Forcing the price of beef higher forces people to buy chicken instead which makes the chicken cartel much richer, the same lack of competition in the dairy cartel makes dairy farmers multi millionaires. Liberals have their voting blocks and defending them is of utmost importance. How many campaign $$$$$ do they get from Cargill? They with their close friends in the WEF wanted Canadians to eat crickets but that $7 million insect boondoggle went bankrupt.

Will Johnston's avatar

Why does our government have anything at all to do with food? The incompetence of central planning is on public display. Enough.

Mark Sherman's avatar

The Liberal mantra....strengthening the middle class is the biggest lie ever told.

Gregarious Gringo's avatar

What I want to know is, this Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quota Advisory Committee, which has not met since 2015. Is it a committee that is comprised of volunteers, or advisors paid by the government? If paid by the government, are they still being paid to do nothing apparently?

To each and every one of us who just read this nauseating report on Ottawa’s “top-down” control - SEND THIS ARTICLE TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW - By text, by email, by Facebook, by Instagram, by X and any other media transporter you use!!

We can circumvent MSM lies and propaganda and circulate some truth!!

How the H can anyone vote for those uncaring, incompetent, useless, self-serving Liberals.

Unconscionable!

I'm sure the last two elections were rigged to the hilt.

“Cases like this raise an uncomfortable question: does Ottawa actually want to keep beef prices high?” Short answer: yes. It moves people in purchasing meat, away from beef, which to the environmental left means reducing the carbon footprint of beef cattle, villains in global warming with their output of gaseous methane. Smaller herds or eliminating them is therefore good and necessary. Remember the fiasco re removing from “beef” labels the source of the “beef?” That stuff to be grown in a factory lab? Expensive, so have to make it competitive with real beef. Only way to do that is to make beef more expensive. Since this is religion to the environmental left, and it is basically where the liberal party is at the moment, the long answer is: yes.
