OP-ED: Mayor Olivia Chow emboldened Jew-haters once again
"Mayor Olivia Chow not only told an audience made up of Muslims that Israel committed genocide in Gaza but ignored the brutal program on Jewish students at the university where she once taught."
In one week Mayor Olivia Chow not only told an audience made up of Muslims and terrorist sympathizers that Israel committed genocide in Gaza but ignored the brutal program on Jewish students at the university where she once taught.
Chow’s blood libel occurred on Saturday night. Just a few days later during the same week she also failed to comment when pro-Hamas protesters crashed a private event involving Jewish students and an IDF soldier visiting Canada — causing chaos and violence. This occurred at the same institution — Toronto Metropolitan University formerly known as Ryerson — where Chow taught some social justice bird course prior to running for mayor.
Police charged five terrorist sympathizers — all of them female
Her obscene “genocide” claims were made to an event in Brampton on the night when the Blue Jays were fighting in the 7th game of the World Series.
She should have been in Toronto that night, especially when hundreds of thousands of fans were stranded after the game went into overtime and the TTC’s hours were not extended to manage the change.
And next Monday she will raise the flag of the non-existent state of Palestine, pandering yet again to her Jew-hating supporters. This will occur at City Hall.
It’s hard to believe that Toronto’s mayor could be so evil — to treat the city’s Jewish community with such hate and disdain, to poke us in the face with a flag raising that does nothing but embolden the Jew haters and to ignore the anti-Semitic acts she’s enabled with her wilful blindness and a police force made impotent by her council.
However, given what a mess she’s made of the city, the embarrassment she is on the world stage and how she can’t manage the most basic of affairs as in snow clearing, this may be in fact her re-election strategy.
Perhaps she hopes to win votes by isolating the Jews and propping up the city’s terrorist sympathizers and those who have been indoctrinated into believing Jews are the enemy—figuring that would be a distraction from her dismal record.
I’m not kidding. It is not a stretch considering that her campaign team from Progress Toronto and many in her own office are anti-Semites or self-hating Jews like Adam Chaleff, the NDPer who bullied Rob Ford mercilessly.
Still the fallout has been tremendous.
There is no doubt a direct link between Chow’s blood libels about the Jewish state and the empowerment of Toronto’s Jew haters.
One synagogue in Toronto —Kehillat Sharei Torah — has been vandalized 10 times, the latest this past week.
That attack occurred at a private location near TMU, chosen after the weak-willed university officials refused to allow the Jewish students to hold it on campus over security concerns?
I said the weakness of our politicians would lead to violence and I was right. Some called the violence eerily reminiscent of Kristallnacht in the early days of the Holocaust because glass was broken during the melee at TMU.
But still silence from those politicians who enabled this terror.
Even though five Hamas sympathizers were arrested for trespassing, unlawful entry and obstructing two police officers — not to mention glass being broken and a Jewish participant injured — social media was rife with outrageous claims and Hamas propaganda.
The commentary included such claims as:
The Jewish students deserved it because they invited an IDF soldier to speak which triggered the Jew haters (repeating Hamas propaganda about the “genocide” in Gaza)
The Jewish students were in fact the ones that attacked the masked intruders even though five of them were arrested.
Unfortunately terrorist sympathizers are adept at twisting the truth and our weak politicians — afraid yet again to upset their Muslim supporters — said nothing.
It wasn’t just Chow but Premier Doug Ford, who has been a complete and utter disappointment and of course our anti-Semitic Prime Minister, Mark Carney.
Our biased legacy media added to the obscene interpretation of the shocking events by posting stories and videos that left it to interpretation who was at fault.
Facts don’t matter to these people.
But let’s be frank here. If ever a headscarf were to be yanked off the head of a Muslim woman, they (the media and our weak politicians) would (and will continue to) go berserk (even if the event proves to be false as it has been in the past.
I’ve said this before: Actions and even inaction have consequences.
I suspected the anti-Semitism would not stop after a peace deal was signed on Oct. 13 and the last 20 living hostages returned to their families.
The protesters and the pro-Hamas activists have been emboldened and enabled by the lack of political will to do the right thing and use existing laws to curtail their brazen efforts at intimidation and other heinous acts.
The police and our politicians can’t even bring themselves to enforce existing mask laws which would make it illegal for the protesters ot wear their black and other masks to hide their identity.
No wonder these sick evil protesters smell blood.
Our politicians have made it clear what side they’re on other by their silence or by opening endorsing those who want nothing more than to eradicate Jews.
Sadly, as I’ve found out over the past two years, there are plenty of useful idiots in Canada — not just voters but in the legacy media — who are indoctrinated by both Liberal and Hamas talking points.
I’m off to Israel Monday where I’m told family and friends are absolutely stunned by the amount of anti-Semitism in Canada.
Stay tuned for my tweets, videos and stories from there.
