OP-ED: Liberal fear machine convinces Canadians to be terrified of the U.S.

It’s when I see polls like this one that I realize the world is truly upside down and that far too many Canadians are easily duped.
A Leger poll, done a few days ago in the wake of PM Mark Carney’s narrow win as Prime Minister during a campaign that reeked of anti-Americanism and jingoism, claims that 52% of Canadians no longer feel safe to travel to the United States.
That number increases to 59% among those over 55–the same Boomer age group that were so easily manipulated by the Liberals during the election campaign.
The poll was done by Leger for Jack Jedwab, a McGill professor and CEO of the Association of Canadian Studies.
Another 54% say they no longer feel welcome in the United States, a percentage that increases to 60% among the petrified Boomers.
Jedwab claimed in his introduction to the survey results that with the “tense exchanges” from U.S. president Donald Trump — who has repeatedly talked about making Canada the 51st state—the tariff increases (?) and increasing scrutiny for persons entering the U.S., Canadians no longer feel “safe” or “welcome” travelling to the United States.
He also quotes Carney’s election night victory speech in which the PM warned that America wants Canada’s “land, resources, water, country.
”President Trump is trying to break us so America can own us…that will never, ever happen,” Jedwab quotes Carney as saying.
For one thing, it sounds like the professor/CEO already had made up his mind before Leger came into the picture—that is, America bad, Canada good and that Carney would protect us.
Whether that will occur remains to be seen, but this survey strikes me as a response in search of a problem and yet another attempt to brainwash Canadians.
I’d venture to guess that few, if any, of the 1,626 respondents in this survey have actually been to the United States since Trump took office and were simply providing a visceral reaction to what they hear in the legacy media.
It really disgusts me to see Canadians proudly virtue signalling on social media that they’ve cancelled their trips to the U.S. because it’s no longer safe.
If anything, what should give them pause is the terrible exchange rate. That is not Trump’s fault.
I’ve heard more than once that gay people should fear coming here, based on hearsay or what has been purported by the anti-Trump legacy media.
Just the other day while doing an errand an obvious Democrat — upon learning I’m Canadian — wondered why I was still in Florida given all the “terrible things” being done to Canadians.
Those were the exact words of this ignorant woman, who I’m betting listens to CNN all through the day.
Perhaps because of the May heat or because I’ve heard enough, I told her I’m not interested in her Democratic “BS” and that I’m gay and have had a wonderful winter in south Florida.
That’s the honest truth.
Anti-Semitism is not tolerated by the strong leaders in Florida, unlike in Toronto where Mayor Olivia Chow and Premier Doug Ford continue to enable the terrorist sympathizers.
So far — and I’m leaving in a week — my wife and I have not been thrown into an internment camp because we’re gay.
Perhaps that’s slightly over the top but my community has several gay people living here.
I have driven around all winter with my Ontario plates and no one has said a word, except to compliment the colour of my car.
The only safety issue I’ve had is being hit three times — the worst one by an elderly driver who should not be on the road and cost her insurance $11,000 to fix my car.
But here’s the god’s honest truth: My wife and I fear more what’s waiting for us in Toronto and Canada as proud Zionists.
Let’s not forget the out-of-control drug addiction and the rampant crime that goes with it with no consequences.
Our new prime minister has made it abundantly clear he does not have our backs as Jews.
I have already met people from Toronto who have moved down here for good because they can no longer tolerate the anti-Semitism in Canada.
I know several others who are considering it.
So surveys like this one are a great load of bunk.
As far as I’m concerned, they are meant to instil fear in already easily indoctrinated Canadians who can’t think for themselves.
If anything, we should fear what’s going in Canada under the Liberals.
The greatest threat to Canada is not Trump's tariffs. It's the Liberal's opportunistic political response that hurts only Canadians and pushes us ever closer to WEF damnation. The second greatest threat to Canada is the mindless electors who are so easily manipulated by false fear.
My compliments to you Sue Ann. You said exactly how I feel about polls. And they should be against the law come election time. Again, a great job.
