OP-ED: Carney’s “New World Order” means China first, democracy last

The idea of cozying up to a Communist regime that does not value free speech let alone human rights is enough to make thinking Canadians (not the Elbow’s Up lemmings) cringe in despair.

I’ve come to know when Prime Minister Mark Carney has puffed out his chest and done something that is not necessarily good for our country.

His flock of Elbow’s Up lemmings (some I swear are paid) commence posting immediately on social media what a wonderful job he’s doing as PM and how he’s saving the country while attacking PC leader Pierre Poilievre.

Like clockwork they were in a tweeting frenzy after Carney emerged from a meeting with the president of China and declared that a deal had been struck that will be the start of a “New World Order.”

But here I thought Carney campaigned on being the one to deal with President Donald Trump and the tariff threat. You know, Elbows Up and all that cockamanie crap.

He said so during his second election debate.

Of course the paid legacy media never asked the hard questions about how he intended to do that.

But that quickly ended before it really even got started suggesting to me it was merely an election ploy and Carney really didn’t want any sort of trade deal with the United States.

After all, he has done everything to sabotage a relationship between announcing he supported a Palestinian state (just as Trump was trying to get a peace deal) to announcing he intended to open a consulate in Greenland.

Before Christmas he was downright cagey when asked by the legacy media how talks were going. That evolved into “who cares” when asked in November of last year about the last time he’d spoken to Trump.

Didn’t he also say before he got elected that Communist China was a huge security threat (which it is)?

Now apparently he has claimed that security threats have shifted.

He was asked about those threats and his new world order statement, during a press conference two days ago in Beijing hyping the one-sided deal with Xi Jinping — one that will bring cheap Chinese EV vehicles into Canada in exchange for a loose “expectation” (not a given) that China will lower tariffs on Canola oil and lobster.

He said the security threat environment has “increased” in a world that is “more dangerous and divided.” He said he’s opted to manage those threats through “resilience” that will protect Canadians.

He would not answer when asked if the security threats with China continue.

I’m beginning to think that Carney fits his name — a smooth talker who uses elitist words to try to fool that average lazy-thinking easily manipulated Canadian (the kind who voted for him and has to save face).

Actually the only thing that has shifted is the threat to his authoritarian massively huge ego.

Trump has made him look weak on the world stage and despite all his tripping around the world pressing the flesh with various leaders he has made no deals. He is quickly turning Canada into a minor player, even after 10 years of the drama teacher, Justin Trudeau.

Lately on American news, I only hear criticism of our country, if they mention us at all, and quizzical comments about what our “leaders” are doing.

This deal — if you can call it that — puts Canada at risk of all kinds of threats to our security (online and otherwise), certainly to our auto industry and our economy and potentially to our quality of life.

If Carney — the carnival barker — is so married to net zero and climate change, why the hell would he get into bed with a country that has the leading number of heavy polluting coal plants in the world?

Why would he cozy up to a ruler who does not believe in human rights, who abuses and jails protesters who fight for their freedoms, who severely restricts freedom of speech and the internet and engages in mass surveillance.

And the great irony is that the people who support Carney’s endeavours rail non-stop about the protests south of the border as if Trump is responsible for the deranged leftists who don’t want illegals to be caught and deported.

The world is upside down.

But still, given Carney’s refusal to deal with Trump and the countries to which he’s opted to visit — most especially China and Qatar — I suspect that he fancies himself more of an authoritarian dictator and a student of Communism than he ever would admit.

Don’t kid yourself. He has not proven in the slightest to be even a benevolent dictator.

He likes to control the message and to sideline those who don’t see the world his way.

He surrounds himself with fools.

All you have to do is look at how his ministers Anita Anand and Melanie Joly mouth his narrative almost verbatim.

But then there’s that elephant in the room.

I remain convinced even more that he doesn’t care about protecting Canadians but about enriching Brookfield.

And he certainly doesn’t care about Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who he unceremoniously threw under the bus, along with Ontario’s auto industry, with his China EV deal.

Frankly, Ford deserves it for cozying up to Carney and making it clear he had no time for Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre—and for his silly antics that he thought showed strength against Trump’s tariffs.

You might say Karma is a bitch.
