OP-ED: Carney rewards terror and snubs Jews on the world stage

Either our prime minister is incredibly naive or completely out of his league when it comes to geopolitics or just one of those elitists who doesn’t care much for Jews — or all three.
How else to describe his plan to strike a deal with the devil — namely, to recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in September.
His terribly insightful plan (said with sarcasm) was announced late Wednesday after a cabinet meeting to discuss Israel’s continued conflict in Gaza.
Note that the Cabinet meeting was about Israel, not about the tariffs US President Donald Trump intends to impose on Canada on August 1.
The great economist — who told us before being elected that he was the one to negotiate with Trump — has been the one leader of many who can’t reach a deal. I’m beginning to think he has no ability to reach a deal or won’t because he’s just that full of himself.
In any event, Carney claimed his plan (for Palestine, not the tariffs) was conditional on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas holding. general elections next year.
As if. Here where Carney isn’t half as smart as he thinks he is.
Abbas hasn’t held elections for 15 long years! This year, the Holocaust denier — known for paying stipends over two decades for the murder of Jews — has already broken his promise twice to hold elections.
But what exactly does this say to the Jewish state, the only democracy in the Middle East, and to Canadian Jews, who have lived through nearly two years of virulent Jew hatred?
That we Jews are dispensable?
That Israel was not allowed to fight back against the most deadly attack by the vicious Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, when 1,200 innocents were raped and murdered in cold blood?
I might add that Hamas broke the ceasefire on that day, as it had many times before.
That the 50 hostages (dead or alive) still in the Gaza tunnels no longer matter?
That Palestinians used as human shields by Hamas don’t matter either?
Mark my words, this move is nothing more than a reward to Hamas for their terrorist acts and will only embolden the terrorist sympathizers who have been given free rein to clog the streets of Canada’s major urban centres calling for a global intifada and “Death to the Jews.”
As proof, all the Israel and Jew haters wasted no time celebrating on social media.
What really angered me in Carney’s statement, besides the realization that he only cares about winning Muslim votes — also evident by the number of (likely Jew-hating) Gazans he’s bringing into Canada — is that he claims that Israel has failed to “prevent the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian disaster in Gaza, with impeded access to food.”
Can he really be as blockheaded and tone deaf as his statement sounds?
For one thing, why do the other Arab states get off so easily?
Not one Arab state wants to house or feed the Palestinians, least of all Egypt whose officials have built a huge wall on the border of Gaza. That says everything.
How often have pictures been posted showing the huge amount of food sitting untouched in Gaza because Hamas and the UN won’t allow it to be delivered?
How often have I seen stories about Hamas stealing food or attacking Palestinians when they try to access it?
Contrary to the propaganda that Israel haters have propagated about Gazans being down to skin and bones, the best proof of the great lie was the arrival of families of women and children at Pearson airport this week, all looking well-fed and in some cases, obese.
Look I knew Carney would be very bad for Canadian Jews and said so repeatedly during the election — even repeatedly wasting my breath arguing with Liberal Jews that he made it clear where his sympathies lie.
I hope the Liberal Jews who voted for him are proud of themselves.
Carney can’t see beyond his tight friendship with his equally weak friends in Europe, UK PM Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The cowardly triumvirate have capitulated to the terrorist mob. They’re rewarding rapists and murderers.
What they refuse to realize is that it only starts with the Jews.
Conservative MP Shuv Majumdar said it perhaps best when he tweeted that there is nothing “principled, nothing courageous and nothing diplomatic” about handing a victory to terrorists, to surrender to barbarism.
As he says, true leadership means upholding the rule of law over mob rule.
But Carney has chosen to take our once fine country down a very dark path.
He isn’t a leader, he can’t negotiate a trade deal, he is what I call an elitist nebbish and he lacks a moral compass.
I’m disgusted with my country today.
Well stated , Sue Ann.
Carney is operating as a king. He did not take this to parliament to be voted on. I believe you are correct that he cares more about the votes of the Muslims that have taken to the streets to spew hatred not only against Jews but also against Canada.
While this is going on, Christians are being censored/banned.
Canada is heading down a dark path.
This will go down in Canadian history as a major political error pushing Canada into irreparable economic collapse. Who would want to risk investing in a country like this, not even Brookfield Asset Mgt. As President Trump said “Oh Canada”, gone is any negotiation. Time for regime change in Canada.
“Either our prime minister is incredibly naive or completely out of his league when it comes to geopolitics or just one of those elitists who doesn’t care much for Jews — or all three.”
Correctly stated.
