You might say Prime Minister Mark Carney has given a whole new meaning to famous singer Willie Nelson’s hit, “On the Road Again.”
It seems in just 18 months in office, the globetrotting PM has milked his perks for all their worth — this time jetting off in the government plane with its fancy menus to Tuscany, Italy until Aug. 17.
It’s really a holiday, but I guess if you say you will be on call, if necessary, during your “personal time,” you can get away with using Canforce One and ordering up a menu fit for a king as Carney and his wife have repeatedly done.
(By the way, US President Donald Trump’s plane is called Air Force One. I suspect there is a bit of FOMO in the similar name).
But it is predictable of the legacy media not to question his use of the government plane for a vacation or to criticize his plan to hightail it out of Dodge even as the deadline for the new U.S. 50% tariffs is looming (Aug. 19) and wildfires rage in B.C.
His highly touted anti-Semitism council has been a bust, having met only once, according to reports, largely as a get-to-know-you session.
The legacy media accept without question that he’ll be in Italy for “personal commitments” but is in “close contact with his team and officials on several priorities.”
They’ve been bailed out very well to play dumb.
But who are we kidding?
These petty little Canadian issues are so beneath Canada’s ruler considering there are Arab dictators’ hands to shake, WEF elitists to impress, and tax money to give to countries doing business with Brookfield.
I’m beginning to wonder if Carney, a toxic narcissist, believes a deal with Donald Trump is also beneath him, considering he and his paid social media lemmings have spent the past year manipulating weak, low IQ Canadians to hate the “Big Bad Orange Man.”
I thought it childish of Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Carney to boycott US alcohol sales in our liquor stores, but evidently the weak-willed didn’t see anything wrong with it.
I thought it also petty that they were encouraging Canadians not to travel to the United States, considering Carney’s wife and children live there. But again, as I’ve discovered, sadly, it’s so easy to manipulate weak-minded Canadians.
Some of us didn’t listen to his propaganda, and we had a lovely winter in Florida last year. More Trader Joes and T.J. Maxx for us.
But getting back to Carney’s travels, research shows he travelled 153,000 km on 28 flights last year. His travel is higher than the man-child who preceded him and Conservative PM Stephen Harper.
He’s been on 13 trips since the House rose for summer in mid-June.
His international travel schedule has seen him spending up to 20% of his time in office abroad to “focus on global trade diversification” and “diplomatic meetings” — some with Muslim/Arab dictators who hate Western values.
Of course, let’s not forget the nearly $1-million spent on catered food from March 2025 to this past March. One can only imagine what it’s been since then.
Carney and his wife sure like fine dining.
The global trade diversification part is absolute BS.
Despite all this jet setting and the propaganda we see regularly on social media, Carney has inked no major international trade agreements. Donald Trump, on the other hand, gets action and works day and night.
Despite promising us he was the man to deal with Trump on CUSMA, he has largely run for cover, as he is this week.
In other words, he’s simply a lazy dilettante who fancies himself a King and is far more adept at controlling the message than bringing us deliverables.
Trouble is, far too many weak Canadians eat it all up.
Blah... Blah.. Blah from the usual corrupted and complicit MSM on Conman Carney.
He could not give a rat's rear end about Canada nor Canadians.
He was probably pining for some more gourmet dining on the Canadian Taxpayer's dime.
Nobody should begrudge a leader taking a holiday but it's all in the timing.
More concerning is that Conman Carney had to ask the Ethics Commissioner about the trip.
But probably makes sense since certainly Carney and Ethics appear to be total strangers.
In any case one might think that during these critical times when a trade agreement so very vital to the economic well-being of Canada is on the line with the USA a real leader might decide that should be the priority instead of a vacation.
But remember I stated "A REAL LEADER" so that definitely let's Conman Carney out.
Sad though that once again courtesy of Canada's corrupted, bought and paid for MSM and a constant stream of negative BS from them on PP too many Canadians somehow and despite ample evidence to the contrary, think Conman Carney to be a far superior choice to PP in almost all aspects.
Go figure that one folks although it's not hard ... The Russians call theirs PRAVDA.
Couldn't have said it better myself, Sue-Ann! We love going to the States - to visit friends and just travel... Have since I was 5 years old. Why would someone - anyone assume I would change my mind on that, just bc of who happens to "run" both countries? Leaders come and go, and I have NEVER and WILL NEVER stop travelling to the US bc of who happens to live in the White House. That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard of!!!
