A few days ago, a woman I worked with many years ago invited me to join a Facebook page called “Canadians who hate (Donald) Trump.”
It has 122K members and is recruiting people who “can’t stand the freak” and need a place to “unabashedly and fearlessly vent against him.”
When I gave her a hard no, she resorted to lecturing me.
I needed to support PM Mark Carney now more than ever, she told me, because we were under attack.
Note the use of “attack” — a word straight out of the Carney manifesto.
I told her I’d never support Carney because he is ruining the country I once loved, behaves like he’s a ruler (who deserves fine wines and haute cuisine while jetting around the world), and has fomented Jew hatred with his lack of understanding of geopolitics and his repeated attacks on Israel.
My reasoning fell on deaf ears.
It didn’t take long for me to surmise that she had been indoctrinated into the cult of Boomers who obsess about Trump but turn a blind eye to what Carney is doing to destroy our country, and what Justin Trudeau did before him.
No amount of common sense will convince these brainwashed, weak-minded souls, especially now with the collapse of trade talks, new tariffs, and Trump’s trolling about renaming Lake Ontario Lake America.
Carney and his Liberal sycophants have successfully fomented TDS 2.0.
First, the PM walked away from the talks a little over a week ago and has refused to this day to provide the details of the deal that caused the talks to collapse — to correct the vastly disparate claims made by his lead negotiator Janice Charette and Howard Lutnick, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.
Considering Carney had more than a year to get it right, I continue to suspect he didn’t really want a deal, at least not at this time with three by-elections looming Monday.
What better way to whip up and gaslight the weak-minded than by declaring Canada is at “war” with the U.S. and specifically the Big Bad Orange man.
War? C’mon. Carney is no Alexander the Great.
And the braindead, easily indoctrinated Canadians lapped it all up.
The silliest of all in the past few days has been Premier Doug Ford, who planted himself in front of Chapman’s Dairy to shill for the so-called Canadian ice cream — which, according to its own information, is comprised of 70% American ingredients.
They intend to change over by 2027.
However, that didn’t stop him from gorging on Chapman’s treats.
He also informed us that Trump should kiss his rather rotund ass.
That was followed by his unveiling of a huge Lake Ontario sign (in English and French) in Stoney Creek to counteract the Lake America rhetoric from Trump.
Toronto mayor Olivia Chow — with an election looming — had to get into the act.
She even suggested Trump should be more like the dear departed Dolly Parton.
But she seemed to lose her mojo as the weekend approached.
Gawd almighty our leaders are not just foolish and thin-skinned but rabid hypocrites.
Did Chow not change the name of Yonge-Dundas Square to a Ghanan name called Sankofa Square— the stupidest move ever because it means nothing to Torontonians.
Did Ryerson University not become Toronto Metropolitan University because of Eggerton Ryerson’s alleged influence on residential schools?
Did Ford not allow the statue of Sir John A. Macdonald to be boxed up for five years because it so disturbed the woke?
These are but a few examples.
I guess it is okay for the leftists to erase or try to erase history but heaven forbid someone do it to them.
Yes indeed there has been plenty of pearl clutching in the past few days.
The sufferers of TDS 2.0 have returned to listing Canadian stores and products we should buy instead of American ones.
The stories about the Elbozos not travelling to the U.S. started cropping up yet again in the legacy media.
Nothing like the end of summer to remind weak Canadians not to travel south.
There were calls for resignations at Google (maps) because the outfit changed the U.S. part of Lake Ontario to Lake America.
Some proudly virtue signaled about grocery shopping only for Canadian products or in this case (a former CBCer) deleting google maps from their phone.
Through it all Trump kept trolling the weak with Donald Ducks on Lake America
I laughed hilariously at both Lake America and the Donald Ducks.
I also have to laugh at all the pearl clutching.
It is so ridiculous.
This too shall pass.
But the problem with woke Canadians — weak-minded Boomers in particular — is that they have no sense of humour and certainly can’t laugh at themselves.
Even worse though, is that they are so busy obsessing about Trump and being distracted by his antics that they fail to grasp that they are being played by Carney and the Liberals for political reasons.
Carney is not strong; he is an opportunist.
If weak Canadians don’t wake up and understand what is being done to Canada — by our own leaders, not Trump — they will pay a huge price.
It will take years to recover from Carney’s political opportunism.
Good article, Sue-Ann. I remain in awe at the mob-like thinking around TDS. A great cure would be to release the abandoned trade deal, but Canadian insecurity has the apparent half-life of the past Ice Age.
