Thanks goodness I live in Southern Ontario close to the US border in Detroit. I have no issue with crossing the border for more immediate and better health care, sure at a cost, but sitting on a waiting list has non financial costs FOR THE PATIENT! in terms of pain suffering and loss of mobility or whatever.

I know people who have gone to Detroit for a decent sized MRI machine within 5 days and results e mailed back to their doctor and diagnosis done in under 10 days.

I also heard of someone who went on their own for another MRI and returned with a memory stick with the data- However the tech here refused to read it since it wasn't done here. What a system!

The system here stinks!

I am reading now about off label drugs that are being used to successfully to slow down or stop some cancers altogether(Dr. Kathleen Ruddy US, Dr. John Campbell(UK), Dr. William Makis CDN.

I spoke to my Doctor and he said he couldn't prescribe it or he would likely lose his license since Ivermectin might be used to treat covid, which was banned by the government 5 years ago and shots only allowed.

It's my life and my body so if I want to try something I will without bureaucrats here dictating health policy- It's between me and my doctor and what we decide to do is my business entirely.

I've lost all faith in the medical system here and will generally consult the internet before I speak with my doctor and decide if I stay in Canada or go south or elsewhere even for meds.

Ivermectin is an over the counter drug in Tennessee, if you're looking to try it. It has been used billions of times on humans and the inventor received the Nobel prize for it... But it is verboten here because of Covid mandates(it was used exclusively in India without shots).

Id be happy to move to the US(Trump Included), away from these autocrat left wing idealogues at all levels of our government.

Big Pharma controls the healthcare in Canada. Politicians don't want to go up against them.. I wonder why? I battled skin cancer most of my life with everything from surgery, plastic surgery to burning my face. Then I was introduced to Ivermectin... 4mo. and it's over. A friend found it in a feed store. I traded pharma for diet exercise and vitamins. What a difference at 85. I am alive.. really alive. I follow Mayo Clinic they have the natural that can be taken in place of a pharma. It worked for me.

Keep in mind affordability. I know several Americans who go to Mexico for healthcare because they can't afford it in the US.

Canada's Health Care system is not capable of handling the health needs of all Canadians.

There are more bureaucrats and bean counters than there are health care providers and more is spent on management of staff and meetings than is spent on delivery of patient services

Why should a person choose a career as a physician when a physician works 60 to 80 hours a week and earns 1/4 the income of a lawyer who works 30 hours a week?

I know this because i did billing and accounts for Physicians and Lawyers.

When a provincial court judge retires in Alberta the provincial pension is $250,000 plus a year.

When a physician retires in Alberta, the physician only has OAS, CPP, and RRSP savings plus personal retirement investments.

Plus….a physician that cautions on the use of vaccines, that advises what’s honestly best for patients is hauled up in court to have his/her licence to practice revoked! There’s a huge number of excellent physicians across Canada not allowed to practice! Woke politics and grossly corrupt politicians need a forced holiday in the Gaza Strip for minimum of 10 years!!!!

And the Liberal Regime was trying to increase the capital gains tax in order to penalize physicians- and others - even more.

and the government changed the rules mid-stream and will collect up to 66% of the physician's retirement fund, isn't that correct? Why would a doctor practice in Canada? And I shudder to think Carnage will bring in thousands of doctors....foreign trained I bet, just like the Temporary Foreign Workers program??? haha. And when English is a second language, interacting with patients, and directing them into their health future would be a monumental task....for the patient! If you can't understand your doctor, what do we do????

A large cause of the health system's problems is that it was overloaded by mass immigration which stacked another 12 million people on the system over the past 25 years.

A year ago I had to go into Emergency in BC for heart problems. 3 days of tests. Huge costs. Over a year later I haven't had a cardiologist look at my results. BC healthcare is beyond broken.

Hmm. So the two weeks to flatten the curve in order to protect health care system from being overrun was just another lie by the government. Can't believe it.

"Canada spends more on health care than almost any other country in the world and delivers some of the worst results." That sentence spells FRAUD and CORRUPTION!! And that’s exactly what we have here in Canada!! From the PMO right down the line!!

How great it would be to have a President Trump at our helm along with a RFK Jr…..it is just mind blowing to watch them cleaning up health care and the insurance coverages in the USA!!!!

Canada stands out among nations for not implementing a parallel private two-tier healthcare system. Why has Canada chosen to maintain a single, public system when many other countries operate both public and private healthcare options?

Doug Ford here in Ontario has been small step by small step privatizing some parts of the medical system. First it was the eyes to do cataracts and now hip replacement types of operations but doing more faster will infame the Canada Health Act fanatics who will claim it is all illegal. The current system here is so broken and overlaid with bureaucracy it can never be fixed.

Went to emergency care in Portugal. I was seen by two doctors given a prescription and back on the street in 40 minutes and they apologized for the delay. When does that happen in Canada?

We have a healthcare system where the worst M.D. has a waiting list. In a good healthcare system the patient has a choice of doctor.

Carney gave Ukraine 22 billion dollars. This is enough money to build 22 new hospitals from scratch. Here is Halifax our old hospital should have been replaced in 1977. A total waste of taxpayer money supporting DEATH vs LIFE for Canadians.

Today just as it was when Pierre Trudeau was PM in the 1970's, the Liberals still hold to the now failed and discredited ideology , that says everything in your life will be better just so long as the government can control it and enforce it by means of an ever expanding government bureaucracy.

The Liberals, as well as all socialist parties will never allow private healthcare to work alongside public healthcare because they already know but refuse to accept that it would absolutely prove their beliefs that only tightly controlled and enforced government healthcare are not only wrong but destined to fail.

The Liberals by refusing to change are sending the powerful message that your life and the healthcare your absolutely need are expendable and are no concern of theirs. Today the Liberals are the party of no to everything and everyone, except for when it brings more power and control to the Liberals and their government.

The canada health act is an extreme rule laid out to defi an economic way to supply health care. But why, who is it that made up this act. What was the purpose. It appears that it was an idea of a sadistic mind to control who does or doesn't get medical care. Here they say nurses are in favor of this. kind of like hi class, or no class service. I had been told when needing a knee replacement that i was too old to get it, by the DR! After fighting with Dr. for 4 yrs, and suffering to keep a job, I finally got it. My neighbor was told that he needed surgery on his shoulder, but it would be 2 to 3 years. BUT, if he was to pay for it, they could do it immediately. At a cost 0f $34,000. Then was told he could try out of country. He did, will now get it done in Mexico for $9,000in 2 months. After waiting a few years already for action, he decided to go to Mexico. That's what we have for a system. It appears that Drs. are split, for or against the present system.
