So you say but Brookfield has not been suffering from tariffs and their stock keeps going up and up. No wonder Carney instructed that it was not to be sold.

Carney knows exactly what he’s doing. Handing Canada to WEF/globalists.

Shame on those in libs party that don’t have the decency to speak against him and his puppets.

Brookfield Renewable, his major Brookfield Company, is up 25% since early February. Too bad Carney doesn't know as he would never look as he isn't supposed to.

Well said. One caveat, though. The Food Professor says: “[L]et’s not pretend supply management is immune to geopolitical pushback. It is, at best, a partial solution in an increasingly complex trade environment.” At best, indeed. Carney should have been working on a plan to scrap supply management, instead of boxing himself into a corner where he can hardly even tinker with it.

Supply management should go, period.

Absolutely it should be, or at least be revisited and updated by all provinces despite what effects it may have on the hallowed province of Quebec.

The link below is a recent discussion with Dr. Charlebois on why food prices are high in Canada and it also goes indepth into the hallowed province's, protected at all cost, Supply Management system.

Will the newly crowned " Team Canada " have the will to do anything about. I highly doubt it.

Thank you for the link, Doug. I am not sure why Sylvain Charlebois would rather reform supply management than phase it out, but that said, his suggestions for change sounded like improvements. Interesting that he thought that there was a big potential to export dairy products abroad that isn't being realized because of supply management.

The supporters of Supply Management got him to be PM. He can't afford to antagonize them. He prefers to antagonize everyone else, thinking he has 4 years to finish the destruction of the economy and the country. When he's done that, it won't matter anymore, there might never be another election.

many things came into play..(the WEF/ WHO/ UN/ CCP have been plotting this for decades..and grooming Trudeau for his "election victory" in 2015)..with the MSM (CBC) bullshitting Canadians and CCP interfering Chinese Canadians with threats of harm to relatives in China, they stole the 2015 election..and every election since..sounds like a plot for a movie, huh?..well, as it happens, Leon Lee (a Chinese Canadian and anti-Communist) made a movie "Mind Waves" a cpl years ago ABOUT the CCP interference in Canada..but it is BANNED in Canada..and almost impossible to find..I've been trying..

Actually the 55 plus crowd voted for the Liberals, and not the younger generations. This is complete opposite of what you see elsewhere when the young vote for the Left. The younger generations have no future, no decent if any jobs, and no affordable housing. They are sick to the empty promises of the old boys' backroom ruling class of Canada who have ruled Canada for generations, except in a few instances.. These smug wealthy individuals in Quebec and Southern Ontario are an oligarchy and care little about the people of Canada except for their voting immigrant blocs and Quebec farmers.

I'm in the 55+ crowd & certainly did not vote for the Liberals. Anyone that I know when discussing the election supported the NDP but decided to vote Liberal instead 'cuz of .... you guessed it - TRUMP! What idiots do we have anyway? Have they been brainwashed? I suspect a lot of the seniors don't have cable & only listen to the CBC.

I am also over 55 but in our 55 plus coop block, I bet most voted Carney as they all watched Trump on CNN, and that is the only news they watch, and hate him, and somehow felt because Trump demonized Carney, that Carney was the saviour for Canada. Trump was smart as he knew what reaction the clueless "useful idiots" would fall into his trap and vote Liberal as a reaction.

I'm 81 and sure did not vote Liberal for a while, and do not intend to ever vote Liberal again. As far as I'm concerned, that false "Liberal" party should wander in the cold for a couple decades or more to rethink itself. The present one should be named the WEF Party of Canada. And I'm for the defunding of ALL media, let the good ones survive on their own as they do now.

TO THE LEADERS OF MY COUNTRY:

1. Canada's Supply Management policy is being treated like a sacred cow. It should NEVER be said by Carney or ANYONE ELSE that it is "off the table".

2. Tariffs that either put legitimate competitors and/or suppliers out of business or cause domestic prices to rise to economy-busting levels are stupid and unsustainable.

3. Tariffs (unless honestly justified by national security reasons) are just an insanely unjust form of taxation. Provenly unworkable . . . . . no ifs, ands, or buts.

4. Free trade promotes healthy competition, efficiencies, productivities, and synergies amongst nations. Tariffs are the antithesis of free trade.

5. Reciprocal tariffs are the tools of TOOLS. They worsen an already unnecessary problem, by promoting inferior products and services while artificially raising the prices of everything.

6. Anyone with political power that pretends that any of the above 5 points are invalid doesn't give two hoots for the people that he/she is supposed to be serving.

The boomer generation, of which I am a disgusted member, gave Marx Carney and his authoritarian Liberal party a de facto, majority government. They were willingly duped by the Liberal propaganda, and leftist east media, that Canada could ignore the reasonable requests to secure our border, and that a new Liberal leader would somehow win out over the current USA administration in any negotiations. Delusional! They are to blame for this fiasco of what will be four more, worse years than the previous destructive ten years. God help Canada, we are headed for the end of our sovereignty.

We already handed our sovereignty to the WHO in July. All part of the BIG PLAN.

Notice that Carney was elected on the main points (somewhat diluted) of the Conservatives platform. He did not come with a Liberal platform and he could not run on his REAL plan that had to keep unsaid (turn the country to the Globalists). He got elected by Trump Derangement Syndrome and he cannot deliver on dealing with Trump.

Dr. Sylvain Charlebois and Ms. Malcolm,

All 37M Canadians can see the continued destruction by the Carney Liberal Gov picking up where the previous Liberal-NDP Gov. left off. We currently have a minority Liberal government. What are the top three reasons preventing the remaining parties from forming a majority coalition gov. for the next 4 years in order to get our country back on the middle class prosperity road. Right now, I see 343 Quick Straw McGraws with pea shooter fights in the HoC and lots of committee meetings.

It's a great plan..but there's a cpl of roadblocks..1) Quebec 2) Mark "no games" Carney is doing everything he can to see Poilievre defeated in this Alberta "buy"-election .. he's well aware that any "inconsistencies" occurring with it (like the last Fed. "election") just ignite the powder keg that we're in..and all hell will break loose..giving him the opportunity to pull "The Emergency Act" (Martial Law) outta his pocket..(He's such a dick!! )
