C02 is not the problem, dumb politicians are.

Harold B.'s avatar

Mostly stupid voters .

Jerry6's avatar

brainwashed voters that believe the lies they are fed

I am still not convinced that Carney was elected by a slim minority government I think he was soundly defeated. But the Dominion voting machines did us in

Harold B.'s avatar

Yes there was a 20 point spread about 6 weeks before the election . There is no way Carney could over come that much of a lead . So the fake polls turned that into PP being behind in a few weeks . Trudeau's elections were all corrupt as well . It appears China gets to vote . Our whole country seems to have been taken over . Treason runs wild .

dbw's avatar

After some of the revelations of Elections Canada surfaced after the last election coupled by alleged liberal corruption of ten years I think I will always have some doubt whether the last spring election results were not "manipulated" by elections Canada.

Moe's avatar

The Liberals were able to create fear of Trump's tariffs and Carney was the savior. The electors bought the script and did not see what was behind it. Conservatives did not use the actual record and writings of Carney that he is just like Trudeau perhaps less dogmatic.

China helped

Yup. They are SO dumb they don’t even know abut Grade School photosynthesis. C02 is plant food, they take it in and Oxygen comes out.

Albertian's avatar

Not just dumb politicians, many are just out and out corrupt.

When it comes to climate change, the elite have to take another look at their belief system.

Let's eliminate the use of transport trucks, ships, planes, and trains. Eliminate the dependency on fossil fuels by capping all the oil wells. We need energy to survive; without it our civilization would literally die a slow and devastating death. People will freeze during the coldest time of the year. There is no electricity as the electrical power plants rely on fossil fuels to operate.

The food shelves in the supermarkets would be empty, causing mass starvation, leading to an unprecedented civil war like nothing experienced before. The elite who brought this catastrophe to bear will need to be held accountable for their stupid and needless ideology.

Have you ever visited the northern part of Canada during the winter months? The reliance on big rigs to bring in goods for their survival, and what these drivers go through to get the job done, is incredible. I would suggest that an elite become a swamper on one of these big rigs to gain first-hand knowledge and then write an article on the importance of the necessity of our reliance on fossil fuels.

Spend some time on ice breaker opening the shipping lanes for the ships to bring life-saving supplies to the different northern communities during the winter months.

Work as a swamper on one of these huge tow trucks that pull out large transport trucks that have skidded off an icy patch and ended up in the ravine. An electric tow truck would have a difficult time just getting to the accident site, and without a charging station nearby, its presence would be utterly useless.

Spend some time with the pilots who have to transport patients who are suffering from serious medical conditions. They have to fly into very remote communities, many times in extreme weather conditions. To depend on electric planes to get the job done is absolute lunacy.

Spend considerable time in India, China, and some of the poorest countries in the world and determine if they would be able to survive without energy. (fossil fuels).

To get to some of these places, you need to take a bike or walk show the world you are very serious about doing something of importance, to make significant changes to our climate. Walk the walk, talk the talk, a challenge well worth for an elite to take the time and energy to understand climate change.

Climate change is a natural cycle. One can not mess with mother nature!

Jerry6's avatar

don't they use those taxes to pay the climate gods ? Maybe we should return to tossing virgins into volcanos the climate gods might like that . IT IS FINE TO CLEAN THE ENVIRONMENT BUT C02 IS NOT THE PROBLEM crap they dump in our water and air is , plus stop the constant wars they do lots of damage to the planet

Don's avatar

bang on, my friend!!..and Mother Nature is just about ready to hit the flush handle..(and it's gonna make our "leader's" Great Reset look like a toilet flush)

Fred W.'s avatar

The elites you speak of aren't necessarily stupid. They simply don't care how the goal of their agenda is reached or who suffers because of it as long as it isn't them suffering. We are expendable. In fact that's part of the agenda. As long as they get what they want and as much as they want our deaths mean nothing other than fewer "useless eaters" to share the world with.

Jerry6's avatar

unfortunate but true

The sad thing is “you can’t fix stupid”. I lived in the north for 30 years so I am well aware. Since moving south I can honestly say, it’ s not that much warmer for a good part of winter. I experience heat pumps during winter months in Florida and I did not find them particularly good at heating the house. You are so fright in your narrative.

Angela's avatar

The problem is that they don't care. THEY can fly in their private jets, drive in chauffeured driven cars (cud be an EV but likely not). I'm sure they have their hands in our pockets so changing their minds won't happen unless THEY ARE IMPACTED AS WELL. But they're rich & powerful & feel they've gotten the golden goose. Us peons will be the ones to suffer.

Keith Washington's avatar

Likely the most perverse thing about the government’s promotion of EVs is the grants to middle and upper class buyers subsidized by taxes from the working poor who can barely keep a 20 year old clunker running.

Harold B.'s avatar

You got it and all the kick backs along the path .

Anthony Tasker's avatar

I can literally heat my kitchen with natural gas by closing the doors and turning on the oven while reading a book at the kitchen table ... That's how clean it burns ... The only reason Carney wants to switch it to electric is so the government can control the people by limiting their resources and in this way create a very powerful elite class who control all the resources in Canada ... This won't be good for us who live here ...

God bless Donald Trump , and please , Alberta , break away completely from Canada in order to save humanity .

Albertian's avatar

Thank you from Alberta.

Starting to backfire, beg to differ, it was always a bad idea, and fully predictable. Government policy can attempt to change the game, but it can’t force consumers to buy what they don’t want. Until EV’s have comparable rage as ICE vehicles, it is simply a luxury city vehicle for people who either never leave the city, or have a second vehicle for those journeys. No single woman alive who values her safety will own one, and risk being stranded alone in the middle of nowhere. Toyota bet big and Hybrids … they won this battle hands down!

The battery plants that the Liberals bet big on were always going to be great white elephants. Canadians have be lied to repeatedly by climate zealots who keep doubling down on catastrophic potential event, yet chose the least efficient meant of lowering emissions when dollars matter.

Harold B.'s avatar

Very well stated and yes the hybrid is the only way to go if you want something like that .

Angela's avatar

They've been warning about environmental destruction for decades & nothing even close to what they were warning us about has happened. That's why we should be aware that they are lying to us by trying to scare us. We're not as stupid as they seem to be because we've always known that the EV's were a terrible idea considering we're a winter country.

Andrew's avatar

Don't want any high tech vehicle. That tech will fail. A basic mechanical car will last longer.

Jerry6's avatar

true my 50 year old car costs half what my new cars cost to keep on the road and with a few mods thet get 25mpg highway easy to fix parts are cheap ad my old cars have over doubled in value . I hate my new cars that beep every 3 seconds I am not deaf and blind i see what is on my side and behind over 2 million miles driven don't need tech to agravate me

Allan Pippin's avatar

Good article. Well written, factual and informative. The EV bubble is bust. Look at the cities like Edmonton that wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on EV busses. Never worked and now are sidelined waiting on parts from now bankrupt manufacturer.

Harold B.'s avatar

Scam from day one . Many getting rich off it while tax payers are getting robbed .

Carney's big problem is that he desperately needs a majority in order to implement all the looney policies he believes in plus those the loud mouths in his Party believe in.

Until he gets his majority he must tolerate all those people who don't believe in his carbon fraud.

Any other MP's for sale?

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

The only reason these lieberal elites believe in their co2 policies, is that they the elites stand to profit big time. And when all is destroyed they will vanish to Argentina or Ecuador. Or where ever they stored their stock pile of money.

Allby's avatar

Doougie Fraud will bankrupt Ontario chasing his EV nightmare

Fred W.'s avatar

Just one more example of the Trudeau/Carney Liberal government's virtue-signalling chickens coming home to roost. Is this just more ineptitude and incompetence or is it the fulfilment of a leftist agenda to dismantle and destroy Canada so that Canadians desperate for any kind of relief will accept a New World Order with less resistance?

Shelley's avatar

Exactly - very well planned agenda in my opinion. The Canadians who are still dreaming that the gov't is doing it's best for them need to grab a clue somewhere. I'm glad that people have slowed right down on buying these EV's. That's at least one step in the right direction.

Shelley's avatar

It seems the feds would like to collapse the vehicle industry and leave us all stranded at home with our dead EV's. Seriously, stop wasting our money on developing these EV's. They are wholly unsuitable for the Canadian climate and are nowhere near as "green" as they would have you believe. Imagine taking a trip in the winter months, quite conceivably having to sacrifice heating your vehicle to get enough mileage to get to the charging station, if there is one to be had. Then, you sit for hours while that "diesel" generator or an over-stressed electric grid charges your car. Such a wonderful "green" alternative.

Business has always run well on its own. Government should govern only and not get involved in matters that they are hopeless in. Our PM doesn’t even have the knowledge and ability to balance a bank account, our bank account. Most of our mothers and grandmothers did a better job on their finances.

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

The ev market was dead in the water before it got started. And will end, just like it did a 120 years ago. The ev was always a bad idea. There was no saving in co2 emissions. They are impractical. When ever you have to enforce anything on to the a consumer, it's a bad idea, and will never work. The people who came up with this idea has a brain powered with unicorn farts and fairy dust.

Linelle MacDougal's avatar

How about a China deal with the EV's that no doubt will have surveillance to make sure the foreign interference is even more subtly welded into the fabric of our country with many still in a quality of low information ? Lots to read about this reality: Wilful Blindness , The Breaver and the Dragon , Under Assault , and for even more information When Mckinsey Comes to Town - a company that "councils " governments and companies all around the world . Young trudeau spent millions for their council during the mania of the virus debacle with Dominic Barton - the ambassador to China, just after his role as CEO of McKinsey - lots of connections with Carney and his governance that mirrors this shadowy company - in my opinion .

Jerry6's avatar

you already opted into the surveillance state with your cell phone they got you 24/7 . 1950 east germany could only dream of such a system to keep people in line , the phone is also used to warp your thinking

Linelle MacDougal's avatar

Never did get a cell phone ( funny when you don't own one, you don't know what you've missed ) but I suppose it doesn't matter anyway . Just being here might very well be the same thing anyway .

This was a good and informative article but missed on one area, electric buses. This idea of using electric buses pushed and financed in varying degrees across the country by the federal government over the past yeas has become a fiasco in all aspects. False mileage capabilities, excessive maintenance requirements, originating companies going out business replacement parts difficulties and the list goes on. WHO has gained from this experience? industry, our national image or specific companies or individual etc. Who knows considering the type of governments from the municipal to federal levels over the past 10 / 15 years, BUT one thing I do know for sure who is paying for this fiasco - YOU and ME the taxpayers - literally hundreds of millions of dolaar spent without any research or minimal over site.
