OP-ED: Canada chose fear over change by handing Carney power
Sue Ann Levy writes, "Voters who opted to return Liberals — under the very dangerous Carney — for a fourth time are the perfect definition of insanity."

On election night while I watched the Liberal-subsidized media pundits try to sugarcoat Liberal leader Mark Carney’s narrow win over the Conservative’s Pierre Poilievre, I heard one yap repeatedly that the result does not mean the country is divided.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The newly unstable government — which is now ironically teetering on the whims of a party that hates a confederated country and party that was decimated— is more divided than ever.
Sadly it’s not divided between a governing party that wants to make Canada great again and those who want the corruption to continue— as to the south of us — but between a party that will destroy us even further and one that honestly endeavoured to make change.
As the Conservative leader said in his speech to supporters at Ottawa’s Roger’s Centre, change is hard to accept for some Canadians.
The party just needs to learn from their mistakes and press on, he said, although it will be doubly difficult considering he lost his seat.
That was a complete understatement.
Change was not just hard for Canadians to accept but they resisted it with an unreasonable stubbornness that defied all logic.
Voters who opted to return Liberals — under the very dangerous Carney — for a fourth time are the perfect definition of insanity.
They voted for the same party that destroyed Canada under Justin Trudeau, —with crime and Jew hatred rampant, drug addiction celebrated, the economy in dire straits and young people’s hopes for the future broken — expecting a different result under the man who advised Trudeau repeatedly, especially in the last few years.
Carney even recommended that the bank accounts of the Freedom Convoy protesters be frozen. He’s just that authoritarian.
They refused to see that his financial plan would put Canada in even greater debt than under
Trudeau and his housing plan relied on massive spending.
They’re investments, Carney declared!
I’m an economist, I know what I’m talking about, he also said more than once!
I don’t need to declare my assets! I’m invincible, he implied.
Elbows Up! We must save Canada from that evil dictator Donald Trump, even though the Liberals have already destroyed Canada.
Uninformed and easily manipulated Canadians swallowed his narrative hook, line and sinker.
They refused to see Carney for who he really is.
He exudes arrogance and believes himself to be above scrutiny. He lashed out at some journalists (who kept quiet because they’re on the Liberal payroll) and banned others from his events using smug girly men to carry out his orders.
He was escorted around in huge gas-guzzling vehicles with an army of security as if he was the King of England — making it clear he cared not a whit about the little guy.
He was surrounded by all the advisors from the Trudeau years also signaling to those of us with insight that he is nothing more than Trudeau 2.0.
I can’t wait to see the Cabinet he forms of leftovers from the Trudeau era. But he was presented as “Big Daddy” who would protect us from the evil impact of Trump’s tariffs that weren’ in place.
Never mind the facts. The Liberals — who know how to win but not govern — were Machiavellian in their fear-mongering efforts.
It worked. Ignorant, entitled, uninformed Canadians — particularly Boomer women — bought it.
They celebrated Carney as if he was the second coming of Christ.
The Liberal-subsidized media certainly helped the effort.
I saw their blatant bias throughout the campaign as Carney could do no wrong and Poilievre no right.
I even heard the softball questions that were lobbed at the Liberal leader during the English debate. It took Bloc leader Yves Blanchet to call out Carney on some of the concerning issues the media ignored.
On election night, I saw the legacy media delivery change from one of despair as the seat count between Liberals and Conservatives narrowed to one of jubilation when it became obvious that Carney would form a minority government.
The legacy media, particularly the CBC, did their benefactor proud.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who is a lethal combination of stupid and power-mad, certainly contributed to the anti-Poilievre mob, repeatedly opening his mouth to criticise the Conservative leader.
I was thrilled when re-elected MP Jamal Jivani called him out as an opportunist on election night, exposing the mess Ford has made of his own province.
What decidedly worked against Polievre was the collapse of the NDP under Incompetent Jagmeet Singh.
The party, which seemed to focus their attention on anti-Israel antics instead of working for the downtrodden, was no longer the party of Jack Layton.
For years Singh propped up the Liberals refusing repeatedly to pull the plug until his pension was guaranteed.
That cost him his seat and the obliteration of party status.
But wayward socialists decided to throw their fortunes behind the Liberals, which put the party in minority government territory.
It was a confluence of factors that drove Monday night’s outcome.
Polievre couldn’t catch a break.
Having said that, I truly fear for the future of my country.
I refuse to consider with disdain those woke Boomers and assorted others who were indoctrinated by the Machiavellian Liberals.
I pity them because they were so steeped in fear, so rigid in their thinking, so devoted to their echo chamber that it will come as a shock when they discover the Emperor has no clothes.
I hope my country won’t be completely ripped apart by the time they wake up.
This is just scratching the surface. Willfully ignorant Canadians have made a historical mistake of epic proportions. It won't be long before he gives us more ammunition to criticize him with but the corrupt media will make sure their followers never hear it. Then one day, everyone will wonder what went wrong.
