Ontario’s largest teachers’ union has sparked outrage after hiring the controversial anti-Israel group Independent Jewish Voices to deliver “anti-semitism” training, leading to sharp criticism from established Jewish organizations.
The union’s choice of community representative, a group active in Palestine solidarity movements, drew criticism from the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA). CIJA responded by sending an open letter to Education Minister Paul Calandra, voicing their opposition to the appointment.
