Race-based hiring is quietly spreading through Ontario’s public school system.

The Peel District School Board has posted two internal teaching jobs restricted to applicants with what it calls “lived Black experience.”

Sir Wilfrid Laurier Public School is hiring a part-time teacher who must have “lived Black experience.” Sunny View Middle School lists “lived experience in/with the Black community” as a qualification for a full-time Grade 7 teaching position.
