The Supreme Court of Canada rejected an appeal from a local municipality regarding the ownership dispute of several kilometres of Lake Huron beachfront in Ontario, siding with the Indigenous community.

Ownership of the shoreline has been disputed for years between the Chippewas of Saugeen First Nation, the Municipality of South Bruce Peninsula and several private landowners.
