A teachers’ union leadership conference is offering workshops on how art can be used as “a tool of resistance, identity and joy” and only “racialized members” of the union are allowed to partake.

I find this difficult to comprehend in lieu of the fact that white people are now a minority in the work place and most don't have any issues with other races. The real racism is from our government creating the mandates to encourage it. Go do something useful like stopping inflation or poor education mandates, Yoda.
Time to shut the gong show down. We give billions of taxpayer $$$$$ to this mess get a substandard product that increasingly has very odd ideas about Canada and real Canadians. Our government led by Liberal Doug Ford is showing it's true allegiance to DEI, social reconstructs, racism and is an embarrassment to Conservatives. Dissolve the Boards of ED, put professionals not ideologs in charge of schools to hire, fire, make sure education is just that english, math, science, history, physical education turning out proud Canadians.
Unions are supposed to represent members pay and working conditions. The Ministry is supposed to define programs about leadership and professionalism. Both entities have lost their way. Get back on track or get out of the way.
A teachers workshop on Resistance for racialized teachers. What does racialized mean? Every teacher is a member of one race or another. If not every race is included, then that means certain races are excluded. Who decides which races to include and which to exclude? Is there a list? Besides, I thought we were all about diversity, equity and inclusion. These workshop parameters violate all three of those tenets by restricting the diversity and inclusivity of participants, thus establishing an inequitable distribution of participants. Are these people hypocrites?
And what's this about encouraging our teachers to develop their "resistance"? Resistance to what? Aren't resisting and including opposing values?
Frankly, the way teachers are being indoctrinated by the teachers colleges, the curriculum being foisted on children by school boards, and the radicalization of teachers by their unions in Ontario are the best promoters of homeschooling for kids in this province.
The insanity continues with religious ziel. It is everything a cheesy new age religion is about. No science, no logic, no sense. The Insane are running the assylum.
DEI is a sham. There is no diversity, equity or inclusion. Now more than ever parents should be looking for different places to educate their children. The school system is turning into a cult not an education system.
And we as teachers have no right NOT to belong to the union. We can't opt out. We can't contract privately. Same with the College of Teachers. If we don't subscribe to their ideology, we lose our teaching licences. It's absolutely ludicrous.
Who do these people think they are, are they supported by the school board? Where is the Provincial Minister of Education on this? Our education system is supposed to be apply equally all of our children regardless of colour, culture , heritage, etc etc. Enough of this equity "crap" . If these teachers, education officials think otherwise - they can find a new job or profession or leave Canada and go another country where these arbitrary actions views are acceptable.
With the action of this Union and other similar Union's, it's time that we outlawed all Union's as their objective is not to benefit union members but to push politics or ideological views which have nothing to do with improving the lives of students or staff. These Unions do nothing but divide people and are therefore useless. Other useless unions are ones representing CBC and our Federal post office workers.
So the provincial department of education no longer sets the school curriculum. The teachers union took over. Ole fatty is losing ground, guess he lost his grip as well.
