Nine more UCP MLA recall efforts fail after withdrawals and low signatures

More attempts at recalling United Conservative Party MLAs have ended in a resounding defeat for organizers, with Elections Alberta confirming that none of the nine recall efforts succeeded.

More attempts at recalling United Conservative Party MLAs have ended in a resounding defeat for organizers, with Elections Alberta confirming that none of the nine recall efforts succeeded.

Two petitions were voluntarily withdrawn, while the remaining seven failed by being far below the required signature thresholds.

Under Alberta’s Recall Act, a petition requires signatures from 60 per cent of voters in the most recent election within an electoral district to move forward.
