Canadians are apparently the happiest they’ve been in years, according to a new Leger poll that found a significant increase in optimistic attitudes, with the “national average at 70.5 out of 100, up from 68.7 in 2025.”
“Along with the increase in the overall index, fewer Canadians say their happiness deteriorated over the past year: 23 per cent in 2026 compared with 28 per cent in 2025,” reads the study released last week. “Just over half (52 per cent) say their happiness remained stable, while 25 per cent report an improvement.”
