BC Conservative leadership candidate Peter Milobar released a statement saying he had nothing to do with a 2024 anti-John Rustad website after Elections BC concluded the site was not the work of disgruntled BC Conservatives, as claimed at the time, but was instead commissioned by BC United during the pre-campaign period ahead of the provincial election.

In a statement posted to X, Milobar said the Elections BC fines publicly posted on Wednesday against BC United had only been brought to his attention the night before. He said he “would never stand for those political tactics,” especially the allegation made against then-Conservative candidate Teresa Wat.
