Liberal cabinet minister Marc Miller signalled that online censorship bills to tackle “online harms” will be a top priority for the now majority Liberal government, though he said they still hope to gain consensus from opposition parties.

He told reporters, while leaving a Liberal caucus meeting on Wednesday, that with a Liberal majority, the government will go forward with their plan to legislate speech online, and will be studying and considering further restrictions on their party’s “grassroots” proposals to restrict social media and AI use for Canadians under the age of 16.
