Horrible idea. In fact, seditious. This Albertan can't stand what Kanada has become - Liberals now want Chinese spies flying our new top of the line US military equipment....i wonder how long the US will consider us an ally vs someone who needs to be bombed into the stone age? Because if the liberals can't get their illegal money suppliers and vote-buyers from China in the pilots seats...we all know it will be some radical "death to the jews" nutjob.

Leslie Harris's avatar

Yes, sedition. No other word for it.

Rick Tourond's avatar

Think the Chinese pilots will get homesick and take our planes home with them

Leslie Harris's avatar

They won’t have to. Once they’re finished with us, Canada will be their home, not ours.

BJ Stox's avatar

Disgruntled? You meant DEI rejects. Just what our military needs!

CLo's avatar

at least we know they'll be easy for Alberta's true friends, the Americans, to shoot down. After all, if Kanada hires all the 4th rate pilots busy painting their fingernails and stocking men's rooms tampons....heck, they should be easy targets in the sky with their rainbow camo paint jobs...

Lemme get this straight...you wanna import pilots to fly F-35 jets?? How'd importing thousands of foreign "truckers" work out for ya??..and you want pilots dropping outta the sky and cause even MORE destruction on highways now..?? sounds like Rosemary was right.."it's all made up, anyway"

...say where's she been the last few days?? cudda sworn I saw her pic on a milk carton today!!??

She was hanging around DC trying to look relevant. Probably didn't make the weight requirement for Carney's latest luxury overseas mission.

Another back door to hand canada over the China. It is really past time, Alberta Independence.

Leslie Harris's avatar

It’s not even even “back” door. It’s ramming right through the front door.

What country can a retired couple move to for 365 days of the year, that isn't kanada. I'm serious.

Thane's avatar

Judging by the responses to my question, there seems to be definite interest in options here. To the mods, I don't want to hijack the comments on Clayton's fine article. Does the editorial staff at Juno think, it might make a useful article for comment and conferring on the subject, of which other countries might be viable emigration locations, if the situation here deteriorates after a possible lieberal majority win in the next election. People deserve to know their options in advance in my opinion. Just a suggestion.

While it may not be a super popular option given recent events, you can get temporary or permanent residence in Mexico. I'm here all winter in central Mexico and it's super safe; it's a big country so don't believe everything you read. I also have Panamanian residency and could live there full-time as well. Costa Rica is a popular too. Each country has different residency options and requirements, but there are lots of choices in Central and South America. That's the part of the world with which I'm most familiar, but as someone else suggested there are some options in Asia.

I started my Plan B preparations during the trucker convoy and the invocation of the Emergencies Act. There are options out there that don't require that you pick up and move, but having a residency or two in your back pocket makes it easier to move quickly if circumstances make it necessary.

Philippines is easy. You can enter on a tourist visa. The tourist visa can be renewed in country for up to 3 years. Then you only need leave for a day, and start another years. Manila is a sprawl, like LA, with nice rich large areas, Makati or BCG. If you like smaller cities check out iloilo.

Tatanka's avatar

who wants to live in the Philippines?, may as well stay in Canada if you want to live among them.

Thane's avatar

I would have never thought of there. A possibility I guess. Thanks.

My choice would be Australia, the people are great and that includes the weather to. I would think a hefty retirement retirement income base would put you in the running.

Mark Nayda's avatar

Australia is more barshit crazy than Canada. Australia isn't far behind the UK for government overreach. Australia arrested and locked up the "unvaxxed".

Thane's avatar

Worth considering. But don't they have almost as bad of a government as here? They certainly have a worse, larger bureaucracy problem. Their neighbour New Zealand I gather is almost impossible to emigrate to. Thanks.

Leslie Harris's avatar

Australia was very tyrannical during the faux flu, even worse than here, and from my understanding, you’re right about their government. Likely go from the frying pan into the fire.

WRXS's avatar

Have you ever been there?,

Leslie Harris's avatar

I’ve not been there, but followed the news there very closely during all the lockdowns.

(Fwiw, they produce very good films, equal to or better than N.America’s, imho.)

WRXS's avatar

Maybe, but you wont freeze your butt of worrying about it.

Tatanka's avatar

You ain't gaining anything by moving there. Australia is more infested with muslims than Canada and the government there is just as DEI and embracing Islam insane as Canada

Kathy Smith's avatar

This seems like a ludicrous idea to me! The last thing our navy or military needs is non-Canadian members involved in our defence. If the government showed some care & support for our own military personnel we wouldn’t have to recruit from other countries. The whole diversity & inclusion direction this government has taken along with its disregard for its veterans & the physical needs of those serving has created a shortage of good qualified men & women willing to join our forces. Change the policies of this government & start recruiting within our own country.

John Ravenhill's avatar

Do you trust our current government to seriously vet the personnel they plan to recruit?

Mark Nayda's avatar

They let a NAZI into parliament, so no.

Leslie Harris's avatar

And spies into the House.

Crystal Campbell's avatar

Some stuff you can’t make up. It’s embarrassing.

Gary's avatar

Actually Crystal, it is frightening!!!

B. Hallett's avatar

Foreign pilots... 911 comes to mind.

Dennis Cross's avatar

Sounds like a plan - hand an F35 over to a Muslim Terrorist so they don't have to hijack a plane.

Andrew's avatar

I think the F35 thing is a distraction. This will be used to bring in low skilled foreigners, like orderlies for hospitals. Dude mopping the floor. Given PR, he can quit and do whatever. This is a backdoor immigration policy, where the government can actually offer foreigners jobs and visas.

Janet Buhler's avatar

How do the liberals think this will end? Oops, they don’t think like that! How can we have hired non Canadian citizens to this type of position? How about quit with the radical ideology that which would drastically reduce the lack of retention issue. I can sure see why that is.

Mark Nayda's avatar

Liberala HATE Canada. The Liberal party consists exclusively of foreign born.

Leslie Harris's avatar

They know exactly how it will end, which is why they want to do it. They’re not on our side, not at all.

Dennis Cross's avatar

So, we have a DEI Commander in Defense Chief making Canada more vulnerable by bringing in more DEI, and ..........One more reason to Free Alberta!!!

Bamboo's avatar

The liberals have ruined and destroyed the country to the point where they now have to entice foreigners to do these jobs....Im to the point now where I believe that our own federal government actually hates and enjoys impoverishing and abusing its own citizens....For the liberals its just a pathetic and sickening game to them to see how much more they can actually destroy this country and our people.....

Leslie Harris's avatar

They will milk it dry and then, when there’s nothing left, they’ll move on.

Marg's avatar

Oh yeah bring in more TFW’s why not, it’s gone sooo well!

WRXS's avatar

I can see it now, a modern day recreation of "FIREFOX". What will these boneheads think of next.

Leslie Harris's avatar

How in blazes can Canadians not see through this?!? They are out-and-out TELLING us that they’re handing us over to our enemies. SMH here in this crazy bizarro world. Trump was right last night when he said, in his State of the Union address: “These people are crazy!”
