Memorial held in Vancouver for one year anniversary of Lapu-Lapu tragedy
On April 26, 2025, Adam Kai-Ji Lo, 30, drove his vehicle through a crowd at the Filipino street festival, causing the deadliest criminal mass casualty event in Vancouver’s history.
Memorials were held across Vancouver to honour the victims of the tragedy at last year’s Lapu-Lapu Day festival, which resulted in the deaths of 11 people after a man drove his car through the crowd.
A formal wreath-laying organized by the Philippine Nurses Association of B.C. was held at the site around 8 p.m. on Sunday at Mountain View Cemetery, near the scene of the incident at Fraser and East 41st Ave. There was also a memorial mass at St. Mary’s Parish.
