Mark Carney calls pipelines “BORING”
Speaking in Toronto, Carney referred to pipelines as “boring” even as Alberta continues working toward a possible agreement.
Speaking in Toronto, Prime Minister Mark Carney called the pipeline issue “boring” when asked about Canada’s economic direction.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says discussions with the federal government are still underway and that she hopes to have more to say next week before the Grey Cup, a deadline she has already put on the table.
Former Conservative MP Chris d’Entremont — who recently crossed the floor to the Liberals — says the decision had been on his mind since the election. He says an exchange with Andrew Scheer “sealed the deal,” even though the move had already been under consideration.
Marc Patrone is joined by Erika Barootes to assess Carney’s comments, Alberta’s position, and the broader political fallout.
Erika Barootes is the Department Head of Applied Politics and Public Affairs at MaKami College, the former Principal Secretary to Danielle Smith (2022-2023), and the founding President of the United Conservative Party (2018-2019). However, the federal government is not obligated to appoint the winners of Alberta’s Senate election.

What a pompous, arrogant, narcissistic, bubble boy……perhaps since it wasn’t his idea??
All those many pundits that warned us he was gonna be worse than Justine…… are being proven right every day with every stupid comment he makes……..
Pipelines are not only boring but the work building and maintaining them is dirty and yucky and rough. Data centres are sparkling clean and you can wear white shirts or even dress like a lady. Perhaps Carney needs to be reminded of the words of George Orwell….”People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf”.
