Prime Minister Mark Carney was met with boos from the crowd during his appearance at the Calgary Stampede on Saturday evening, with videos of the moment quickly spreading across social media.
Carney was at the Calgary Stampede on July 11 for his first visit as prime minister.
After meeting with Treaty 6, Treaty 7 and Treaty 8 leaders, he spent the day touring the grounds, meeting attendees, and discussing issues like pipeline development before taking in the evening chuckwagon races at GMC Stadium.
Videos shared online appear to show Carney receiving audible boos from portions of the crowd while attending the evening event.
