A First Nation community in Manitoba has unilaterally declared a ban on non-Indigenous hunters from accessing Crown land, sparked by accusations of overhunting and mismanagement of the moose population.

Bloodvein First Nation, several hundred kilometres north of Winnipeg, posted no-trespassing signs at several entry points to its community Saturday, claiming all non-Indigenous people would be turned away.
