The man who firebombed a synagogue in Montreal’s West Island suburb has been sentenced to two years in prison, and three years of probation.
Mohamed Ilyess Akodad, 20, was sentenced at the Montreal courthouse on Thursday having previously pleaded guilty. His charges stem from a Dec. 18, 2024 fire at the Congregation Beth Tikvah synagogue in the Dollard-des-Ormeaux neighbourhood.
