While Liberal leader Mark Carney touts himself as a competent economic manager, a majority of Canadians are doubtful that a Liberal government under his leadership would restore order to the federal government’s finances.
In a poll conducted by Léger, 65% of decided Canadians indicated that they are skeptical that a Carney government would balance the federal government’s operational budget. Only 35% say they are confident in his ability to achieve this goal.
