A Victoria radio host has been released on bail after being charged with two counts of child luring.
Ferraby is accused of child luring "by means of telecommunication" with one person under 18 and one under 16 "at or near Victoria and Vancouver.”
Alan Ferraby, a host for CFAX 1070 and funeral singer for former B.C. NDP leader John Horgan, was charged Wednesday in connection with events that allegedly occurred between fall 2024 and early 2025.
He has so far refused to comment, and most of his social media accounts have been deleted. It is unclear if his case will proceed to trial.
The allegations have not been proven in court.
The charges, laid Sept. 17, are the result of an investigation that began last year, according to Vancouver Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Steve Addison.
Addison says police arrested the 59-year-old man earlier this year but added the department was “not prepared to share additional evidentiary information which may form part of the criminal proceedings.”
Bell Media, the parent company of Ferraby’s employer, says he has been suspended pending the police investigation.
