Liberals STILL can’t get food prices under control
Kris Sims is joined by “The Food Professor” Dr. Sylvain Charlebois to break down how Canada ended up with the worst food inflation in the G7.
Canada now has the worst food inflation rate in the G7, with grocery prices rising faster than in every other major industrialized country.
Dalhousie University professor Dr. Sylvain Charlebois joins Kris Sims to explain why Canadians shouldn’t expect food prices to come down any time soon, despite repeated Liberal promises to tackle affordability.
Charlebois points to the continued impact of federal carbon pricing on industry, including the industrial carbon tax and the federal clean fuel regulations, which raise fuel and energy costs for farmers, food processors, and trucking companies. Those costs, he says, are passed directly on to consumers at the grocery store.
He also highlights Ottawa’s failure to improve competition in the grocery sector, arguing that high regulatory barriers and limited market entry have left Canadian consumers with fewer options and higher prices compared to other G7 countries.

If I may (once again)..
A small simplification..
LIBERALS ARE THE WORST!!!!!
There..
Fixed it.
BTW...
Poster children for that "be afraid" line from Reagan.
Those nine words that every Canadian should fear big time.
I'M FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND I'M HERE TO HELP.
Carney is a liar, a fake and a fraud.
With all his degrees there was and remains ample evidence that this guy actually has zero clue how to negotiate anything but he is very good at being a narcissistic, arrogant ass so full of himself he would continue the destruction of a once wonderful and respected country that his moron of a predecessor began in 2015.
The really sad part though..
That is why Carney is there in the first place.
This three passport holding, "Proud European" and self acknowledged "elitist" is in Canada to complete the instructions given him by his WEF, Globalist and UN buddies while insuring he dramatically increases his own rather substantial wealth (of which we are to know nothing) and of course that of his associates at Brookfield.
Food prices will never be low so long as there are federal taxes of any sort on the various levels of the food chain. The Liberals are very good at smoke and mirrors taxation. BUt the Liberals can not manage the economy on the GST - a Tax on the after tax dollars that takes 5% of the GNP or more.
