The Liberal government is doubling down on electric vehicle (EV) mandates and subsidies, bringing back consumer incentives while setting a new “goal” that 75 per cent of all new vehicle sales be electric by 2035 and not a mandate.

Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the strategy Thursday at an auto parts factory owned by Martinrea International Inc. in Vaughan, Ont.
