I believe you have misread my inference, I also am a senior now for many years. The “deadweight” that we seniors are references this Liberal governments desire to get rid of the citizens that draw down their coffers, and not build them up. We draw CPP and OAS, which depletes their cash pool, thus reducing monies they need to pay/entice the mass migration types headed our way, in droves
I don't think the government needs our CPP or OAS money pools....they will print more or misuse our present tax dollars without a second thought...They subsidize foreign illegals to the hilt and leave seniors who have contributed to this country with a poverty line paycheque

CPP board. Politicians are not involved. Nor is any tax money. They do not get to direct investments, or disbursements. It is self sustaining, and currently has enough assets for two generations. Over the last 2 decades their returns have been better than most private investment companies. OAS is tax money that is given to anyone over 65 that falls into the right tax brackets without ever having paid income taxes in Canada.
I wish minister Rempel was the immigration minister not just the critic. So many great insights to fix the immigration mess the liberal government has allowed to fester. In other countries, foreign students are not allowed to work. I think Canada should consider this too.
It’s Rempel’s job to fix things, not mine, but I have written (sternly worded letters,lol) to MP’s and MPP’s and other govt officials. I’ve called their offices. I’ve talked to my ward councilman many times. I’ve made memes and posted them…lol I’ve gotten in dustups with maskholes and rejected the jab at personal expense. I’m disciplined about where I spend money so I boycott certain establishments which has required personal sacrifice. I have severed relationships with people whose values don’t align with mine. I used to be more of a passenger but I’ve changed my life to match my values. You?

Why is there no conversation about the employers getting a subsidy from the fed gov if they hire these low skilled labourers? Thus the main reason for high unemployment among Canadian youth. If a company has the opportunity to hire a non Canadian and get a “rebate” why wouldn’t they? These companies are only worried about their profit margins
