I believe you have misread my inference, I also am a senior now for many years. The “deadweight” that we seniors are references this Liberal governments desire to get rid of the citizens that draw down their coffers, and not build them up. We draw CPP and OAS, which depletes their cash pool, thus reducing monies they need to pay/entice the mass migration types headed our way, in droves
I don't think the government needs our CPP or OAS money pools....they will print more or misuse our present tax dollars without a second thought...They subsidize foreign illegals to the hilt and leave seniors who have contributed to this country with a poverty line paycheque

CPP board. Politicians are not involved. Nor is any tax money. They do not get to direct investments, or disbursements. It is self sustaining, and currently has enough assets for two generations. Over the last 2 decades their returns have been better than most private investment companies. OAS is tax money that is given to anyone over 65 that falls into the right tax brackets without ever having paid income taxes in Canada.
If there's ANY $$ sent to the Gov't , then politicians are involved in it..CPP payments are sent directly from the Gov't..I can't see (especially THIS Gov't) saying "oh, we can't touch THIS money..it's for our hard-working senior Canadians!!")..they've made it abundantly clear to us they despise those of us who survived the Covid shots that was meant to eradicate us..as the flow of meth..etc was eradicating our youth, and the woke infestation in education was indoctrinating our youngest..not alotta morals showing there..

All one has to do is some research on-line to find out the various "options" they give people who can't get the "services" they need. How many Cdns have died under MAiD? THOUSANDS!! Why? Because they couldn't get the services they needed. Some may have been terminal, of that I don't doubt but I'm willing to bet the majority were because they couldn't receive the services they needed.
The CPP funds are from working people & their companies. The government doesn't put any into it. All they do is raise the amounts both have to pay. Currently it's 9.9% - 50/50 between workers & employers. FYI
