The Liberals have been forced to walk back parts of Bill C-22 following fierce criticism from tech companies over concerns the proposed legislation would undermine user privacy.

Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree, however, said the bill was simply “about victims” and “ensuring that law enforcement has the right tools at the right time to be able to do the work that they desperately want to do.”
