Just days after Prime Minister Mark Carney unveiled his $6.6 billion Defence Industrial Strategy, the Liberal government is moving to recruit foreign workers directly into Canada’s military.

Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab announced on Wednesday that “skilled” immigrants will now have a fast-track route to permanent residency if the Canadian Armed Forces hire them as doctors, nurses, or even pilots.
