Canadians appear to be quite apprehensive about the country’s negotiation position in the escalating trade war with the United States, although Liberal voters hold a much higher sense that Canada is holding the cards compared to others.
A recent poll from the Angus Reid Institute found that roughly equal cohorts think Canada’s negotiating position is strong (31 per cent) as those who believe it to be weak (34 per cent). Meanwhile, one-in-five (22 per cent) say the U.S. and Canada are on even footing.
