This is too funny. They tried to ban incandescent bulbs during the Harper years, but that never caught on. I never bought a CFL because I wasn't about to pay $10 for a light bulb when I could get one just as good for 99 cents. And now we've come full circle.
And to top it off incandescent bulbs provide a wider spectrum of light compared to fluorescent bulbs, which emit light at discrete wavelengths and may not represent all colours as effectively. This broader spectrum from incandescent bulbs can make a room feel brighter and colors appear more vibrant. Also, incandescent bulbs are generally considered to provide a healthier light than fluorescent bulbs because they emit a warm glow that reduces blue light exposure, which can improve sleep quality and lessen eye strain. Additionally, incandescent bulbs are made with less toxic materials compared to fluorescent bulbs, which contain mercury.

This sounds like an underhanded way of getting rid of all light bulbs that aren't LED to save the planet. The problem is that LED bulbs are not for everyone particularly since I am allergic to them in that they give me monster headaches and lots others have the same problem but our pleas for help are ignored for the good of saving the planet.
Fortunately, I have purchased what I thought was enough bulbs for 10 years but it seems like they could last over 20 years.
Be careful with LED bulbs around your kids when they are studying or reading. My outdoor Christmas lights do not bother me as there is minimal exposure.
The great light bulb scam continues to evolve. They'll soon realize all the dangers, health risks, and environmental problems of LED. That will be right around the time the industry invents some new and improved kind of bulb that has no problems and only costs 100% more. And of course Big Brother's minions will agree and phase in the ban of LED.
