City government should manage infrastructure and related services and get the hell out of the way of law abiding citizens. Champagne Socialists like Chow are the very worst. They actually believe they know what’s best for everyone… as long as there’s a free lunch in it for them.

The Socialist is a pariah, always virtue signalling from a soapbox about the greater good. Never seems to understand the unexpected consequences.

I think some of them are truly evil, hate capitalism, and want our economy to collapse.

A SOCIALIST DISASTER

That simple.

Thanks for using the correct word to describe these Marxist goons, Sue-Ann. I am tired of soft-pedal terms like “liberal” and “progressive” to sell their warped ideas with. Ideas that seldom if ever even make it to a third round of scrutiny before being enacted. “Oh that sounds like a great idea…let’s do it.” They never ask, “if we do this, what about this, or that, or what happens when, or how should/could we handle this or that?” The right number of scrutiny questions is when you have considered everything you and others can think of, and then more that come from outside and objective help. But Marxists never do that, because their ideology is as deep as piss on a plate…. And just as insubstantial. Words matter, let’s start calling these goons by their real moniker; Marxists!

Chow is a fool & seems to enjoy destroying a beautiful city. Why aren't Torontonians fighting back?

JJ88's avatar

That's why it's so important to vote in proper city counsel. It takes so much more time to build up a society, than it takes to destroy it.

Folks, we are missing an opportunity. Given the proven track record of Socialist food schemes (they've only killed ten of millions of Ukrainians, after all), we need a BETTORS GAME. Someone with energy and an eye for odds, should devise (a) the date when the cost overruns are published; (b) the date when the scam... er, excuse me, I meant 'scheme' is declared a failure; or c) when one or more of the stores are wound up. Naturally, a share of the profits would be directed to the organizer(s), for after all, that's who we are. I nominate Sue-Ann as the chairlady of this enterprise (sorry Sue-Ann).

Good idea. At least let’s get some entertainment out of their nuttiness.

I think your reference to ten million Ukrainians is to the Holodomor, Gareth. This terrible crime against humanity did take a terrible toll, but 10 million is one of many drastic overestimates of the number. Chrystia Freeland's much smarter and more ethical uncle, John-Paul Himka thought the correct range was between 2.5 and 3.5 million deaths. With this kind of catastrophe, a range is really more appropriate than a point estimate.

The fact that it happened at all is the real story.

Andrew Baldwin's avatar

It's part of the real story, but not the whole story. People would and should object if there were online claims that the Holocaust claimed 18 million victims, even though the Holocaust certainly happened.

Voters need to keep socialist believers out of city counsel. They're going to spend and tax you into oblivion. They only put money into projects they believe in, everything else doesn't matter. People are going to get tired of government taking their wealth and leave.

These grocery facilities should all be in strong liberal ridings so they could reap the "outcome"

another bottomless pit for our tax dollars. Cheaper food? Access to more or different kinds of food? Run by the government???? hahahahahahahahahaha. Just as ridiculous as Carnage's 'building better homes' agency......
