A story about seniors not getting the most out of their vacations as they used to recently published by the Globe and Mail has been met with strong criticism online, with many finding it to be tone-deaf, given the economic position of many Canadians.

The outlet ran the story on Sunday, wherein they interviewed a retired couple who’ve found that higher prices have been “eating into their annual trip to Europe and in their stay in a small community outside of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they have a second home for the winter.”
