Legacy media changed the Bridgewater suspect's pronouns without explanation
Reporting by legacy media of a teen accused of a foiled school shooting changed from “she” to “he” pronouns without explanation.
Months after Juno News reported that the teenager accused of plotting a school attack in Bridgewater, N.S., was transgender, several Canadian news outlets have switched the pronouns used to describe the accused without explanation.
When the now 16-year-old was arrested in March, most Canadian media outlets described the accused without reference to sex or as female.
Juno News reported at the time that local sources connected to the school identified the accused as a male who adopted a transgender female identity.
