I have yet to hear of any First Nations event beginning with an acknowledgment of the tremendous benefits European medical knowledge and technology have brought into their lives; without which, not to mention the Pax Britannica, they would likely all be extinct by now from starvation, disease, inbreeding, and inter-tribal conflict.

It is the sitting/winning party who writes the throne speech so yes it was Carney's ideology being read by Charles. What a thrill it must have been for Carney to hear his words come out of his king's mouth. He was seen clapping, and nodding along in agreement to his speech as if he had his king's agreement at his wise words

Alex must be lacking in knowledge of what is going on in the world. The US presents in the Arctic is great. And they deflect intrusion often from russian planes. They are always in there to protect themselves and in doing so protect us. Alex just blew all his credibility in my opinion. Alex comes across as amateur.

King Charles ceded all lands where the waters flowed to the Arctic Ocean to his nephew Prince Rupert was the first governor of the Hudson's Bay Company. ( HBC ) ruled this land from 1670 to 1870, it was the exclusive commercial domain of the Hudson’s Bay Company Three years after Confederation, the Government of Canada acquired Rupert’s Land from the HBC for CAD$1.5-million (£300,000). It is the largest real estate transaction (by land area) in the country’s history. HBC managed this resource into receivership...

To cede is to give up or surrender land, position, or authority. There are no unceded lands. Some have been ceded numerous times in the last 300 years. The British can feel remorse for their actions in North America but they are the colonists and oath breakers.
