I'm not a socialist, and would not vote for the NDP with or without Avi Lewis as leader, but this was really a hit piece, not responsible journalism. David Lewis and Stephen Lewis were excellent politicians, and Naomi Klein wrote well-researched books on important subjects. I don't know about Avi Lewis so much but his grandfather, father and wife are certainly admirable people, even if their political views are much to the left of mine. Lewis was almost certainly a better choice than Heather McPherson, with her deranged Russophobia.
