Zuckerberg eyes a $13B Alberta data centre
Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, is behind a massive artificial intelligence data centre planned for Sturgeon County, Alberta, Juno News has confirmed.
This is according to several well-placed sources with direct knowledge of the investment, one that all sources agree will be “historic” in magnitude.
The project is expected to involve roughly $13 billion in total investment, though the final figure could still change as it is unclear if the final proposal has been approved and signed off by Mark Zuckerberg and Meta’s board. Keep Reading
He has 39 convictions and your benefits — and now more freedom

Despite remaining a “significant threat,” the Ontario Review Board (ORB) granted him greater freedom, citing a year without major violent incidents. Keep Reading
Taxpayers spent $289K on a MAID podcast with 70 subscribers
The federal government pumped nearly $300,000 into a social worker-led podcast to open dialogue around euthanasia. Despite having the grant for over four years, the podcast has only garnered about 50 to 300 views per episode and has just over 70 subscribers.
The federally funded Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council awarded $289,226 to a Lakehead University research project titled Disrupting Death; An examination of Canadian Experiences with Medical Assistance in Dying, according to the podcast’s website.
Canadian armed forces combat veteran and anti-euthanasia advocate Kelsi Sheren highlighted the podcast in a recent post on X, claiming the grant was designed to “combat” her own show, which exposes and argues against Canada’s assisted death industry. Keep Reading
