Children born in this country have a right to citizenship, by the fact that they were born here. Their parents still have to apply for immigrant status and possible future citizenship, just like everyone else, but even if they are not accepted here in Canada, their child born in this country has a right to be considered a Canadian, if not a dual citizen of their parents home country and Canada.
