Liberals quietly accelerate “voluntary” digital ID rollout
The Carney government is quietly expanding Canada’s digital ID infrastructure, rolling out pilot projects across multiple federal departments while insisting participation will remain “voluntary.”
An Employment and Social Development Canada briefing note, first reported by Blacklock’s Reporter, reiterates there are no plans for a mandatory national digital ID, despite acknowledging public skepticism among Canadians “distrustful of public institutions.”
“Digital credentials are secure electronic versions of physical documents like work permits, stored in a digital wallet,” the Jan. 14 briefing note said. “The government is creating a system so departments can issue digital versions of documents they already provide.” Keep Reading

Poilievre calls on Carney to release Gordie Howe Bridge details
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to publicly disclose the details of the recent deal struck with the United States to open the Gordie Howe Bridge, saying “Canadians have been left in the dark.”
“Canada paid for 100 per cent of the cost of building the Gordie Howe International Bridge under the simple promise that we would collect 100 per cent of the tolls until the cost was repaid,” wrote Poilievre in an open letter to the prime minister on Friday. “So what’s the deal? It’s been a week; it’s time for you to release the deal so Canadians can see for themselves what you negotiated away to the Americans.” Keep Reading

There's lots to comment on, given the topics of interest Juno News has laid out for this Monday morning. First of all, everyone should be aware that we are under the control of corporate governments. The Federal, provincial, and municipal governments are all service corporations. During elections, we vote for candidates we think will look after our infrastructure and serve as the "watchdog" overseeing corporate operations, such as the food industry and the various utilities we depend on.
But really, we're electing another authoritarian control group. We have to realize that everything we do is regulated. In regard to this digital ID that the Liberals want to fast-track, and even though Mark Carney is suggesting it's "voluntary." However, without one, services and benefits could be unavailable to those who choose not to be "tagged."
When we were born on this planet, we were given "Free Will" to aspire to whatever we wanted to become or create, in harmony with everyone and everything else that exists around us. We didn't come here to "earn a living," to pay taxes and be regulated. We are sovereign individuals and not answerable to any authority, especially those we place in positions of responsibility to serve us, not to rule over us. Politicians will say.... "it's for the good of all." Don't fall for that line of reasoning. Being sovereign means you don't have to follow the herd....unless you want to. That's my rant for today! RM
