And to think over 50% of the populace voted for this nonsense.

The most relevant question is “What is wrong with Canadians?”

I forced myself to listen to the entirety of Carny's speech on Wave 1 and Wave 2 of his proposed "Nation Building" projects. As expected, it was a giant "nothing burger".

There was however, one alarming item that he briefly alluded to, quickly skipping past it. His tone was 'though, one of "this is going to happen." That item is High Speed Rail.

The only HSR project in the works is the one from Quebec City to Trois Rivieres, Montreal, Ottawa, Peterborough and Toronto. The very limited amount of information available on this project is cause for the above-mentioned alarm.

The cost estimate is close to $1 Trillion. Up to $800 billion is the number they used, but what with expected cost overruns, the actual price tag will be well north or a trillion.

Added to this mind-boggling number is the fact that SNC Lavelin (or whatever they're calling themselves nowadays) is the prime contractor.

This project would be of no benefit to anyone except the province of Quebec. There is no need, nor desire for this HSR system. No one is demanding it.

And it would be funded by Canadian taxpayers, not Quebec.

There are so many things wrong with this, on every level imaginable, the negatives defy description.

High on that list would be Canadian taxpayers spending one dollar on any Quebec infrastructure. At least not until they agree to allow a Pipeline East, and get rid of their Supply Management System on dairy and poultry products.

This issue should be very high on the Conservative Opposition's To Do list.

Smells. As always when the Liberals are talking yet hiding the truth.

Rotten. This one is frightening. As an Ottawa resident, I suffered through our Light Rail System, brought to us by SNC Lavelin. This system has been an ongoing, unmitigated disaster from planning, design, construction, operation, to maintenance, from Day One. And we are nowhere near completion. Can't imagine what they would do with a trillion dollar, High-speed rail system.

Just ask Judy Wilson Raybold .. anything to do with Lavalin is suspect. It has a direct line to the Liberals fortunes. All bets are on that easterners will still vote for the most corrupt govt. .. There is only one answer for Canada.. Western separation... From Manitoba to B.C.

Given government's current trajectory at some point Canada's funeral will be in our headlights...and likely 3rd world status will be a given.

Hopefully we'll have an election after the "surprise" not budget. The Liberals are using their eastern base to " spend baby spend. "

Balanced Budget? From the LibTards? You have to be joking. We all know the Budget will Balance itself as per Justin TruDope Trudeau.

And it will when Canada declares total Bankruptcy right after the last Illegal Immigrant has been GIVEN our very last Looney!

In November 2015 Mr. Trudeau pledged to turn over a new leaf.

"We made a commitment to invest in growing our economy, strengthening our middle class, and helping those working hard to join it. We committed to fighting climate change and protecting our environment. We made a commitment to provide more direct help to those who need it by giving less to those who do not. We committed to public investment as the best way to spur growth, job creation, and economic prosperity. And we committed to a responsible, transparent fiscal plan for challenging economic times. We expect you to hold the government accountable for delivering these commitments.

Our country faces many real and immediate challenges – from a struggling middle class to the threat of climate change. If we are to overcome these obstacles, Canadians need to have faith in their government’s honesty and willingness to listen. That is why we committed to set a higher bar for openness and transparency in Ottawa. Government and its information must be open by default. Simply put, it is time to shine more light on government to make sure it remains focused on the people it was created to serve – you.

How did he make out?

Carny just gave himself time to run up our debt by several thousand millions more with no government oversight. How is this allowed to continue? Were we supposed to be impressed with him saying we will have a hefty deficit? The whole Liberal party should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to support this group.

From budget will balance itself to no budget accountability at all. But that’s what bankers count on. “Hey, what’s in your wallet? Do I have a deal - just for you.”
