Absolutely shameful. That is all there is to say about this.

The liberal judges in this country are as corrupt and idiotic as the party that put them there. These same judges won’t sentence criminals because it might hurt their chances of citizenship.

Justice was conquered by the Liberal party too.

Respectfully, I might suggest it's the inverse of that.

The two judges are confused. By their logic the wearing of a business suit is a political signal. After all, an indigenous activist might interpret that as the uniform of a person in power. In Mao’s time everyone in China wore the same drab pyjama outfit for that reason.

My late husband was a veteran from WW11 and I thank God that he's not here to see the disrespect and calus way the men and women are being treated. They sacrificed so very much...some with their lives...so we could have our freedom. Many also suffered horrendously in POW camps and returned home with permanent life long injuries. Many suffered from PTSD and never received any medical treatment so lost their families in the end.

Then to have a judge ban employee's from wearing a poppy is a just so WRONG and DISCUSSING.

I’ll go one step farther & say that’s horseshit! Wearing a poppy is a sign of respect for those who fought for our freedom & the rights of every Canadian. Wearing one is a sign that you will uphold these freedoms even in a courtroom where those who may have broken our laws are still protected under those freedoms. Wake up Canada! I can’t imagine how that logic hurts those who not only fought for freedom & peace in the past but still fought for today.

Those Judges and various levels of Courts exist ONLY because of the service and sacrifices of those the poppy represent. Judges and Courts represent the Government and the laws that Governments create, therefore they are political. Only politicians and the Parties they belong to are more political. Following their own twisted reasoning, those Judges do not belong in a Courtroom. Without the sacrifices, there would be no Court, just firing squads and gulags, and those Judges would be wearing uniforms.

I and hundreds of thousand of Canadians would like to know how those symbols are a political statement.

Once again our learned judges use misguided hypothetical situations to justify woke rulings. In this absurd far fetched dream an assault by a non military citizen on a person of military background might possibly happen and might be brought to trial on 10 Nov. If everyone in the room is hypothetically wearing poppy, the perp’s feelings for a fair trial might hypothetically be tragically and unalterably be damaged, possibly with generational trauma. If this fantasy ever occurred in the history of Canada the judge has the power to stay the hearing until 12 Nov when these hypothetical vial and obscene political symbols are removed for another year. Alternately the prosecutor and staff could claim temporary psychological damage at being forced to remove a visible symbol honouring those who gave their lives so that we are able to live in a society that values its patriots who paid the ultimate price. I think they could return to work on 12 Nov and forego the possible intergenerational damage.

Prime example of woke activist judges. Unfortunately, our Canadian judicial system is rife with these kind of “judges “. Instead of actually doing their job, which is interpreting the laws as they are written, they insert their own ideological personal preferences. There should be absolute outrage over this, because if this kind of behaviour is not dealt with right away, it just gets worse! 100% Despicable

Sooo...if a person is in court for spousal abuse, does that mean no one in the court room can wear a wedding ring???? What a ridiculous excuse!!! Just curious, are they both Liberal appointed judges?

"The two chief justices noted that judges have an “obligation” to conduct all court proceedings in an “impartial and unbiased manner” and that there could be “no signs of favouritism toward any litigants.”

Then why not strip out even more from the courts…. like The King, the Canadian flag, judges robes, symbols of all kind…. they should wear “comrade grey” we can take this even further in its insanity… maybe the only people who are judges for a case should be those who committed those same crimes as they “understand…”

These judges should be thrown off the bench, and any accused feeling discriminated against by someone wearing a poppy in the courtroom proves that he/she is guilty of NOT respecting the foundational principles and values of our Western civilization and, therefore, his/her opinion is not worthy of the court's consideration. Judges must stop prioritizing opinions antagonistic to our liberal democracies, and if they don't, they must be disbarred.
