A Federal Court of Appeal judge shut down efforts by two refugee activist groups to intervene in an appeal case. The appeal will attempt to reverse a decision which blocked a former Bangladesh Nationalist Party member from receiving asylum in Canada, after ruling that the group engaged in terrorist acts.
Federal Court of Appeal’s senior judge, Justice David Stratas, blocked the Canadian Council for Refugees and the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers from intervening in an appeal seeking to reverse the federal judge's ruling.
