Joly says Chinese EVs are safe, but wouldn’t commit to driving one herself

Industry Minister Mélanie Joly may support the concept of Chinese-made electric vehicles in theory, but she doesn’t appear to be keen on driving one herself.
“Would you personally drive a Chinese-made EV? Yes or No?” asked Conservative MP Vincent Neil Ho during a committee meeting last week.
“You wouldn’t?” responded Joly, before Ho repeated his question. “My question is you wouldn’t?” Joly said again.
“I’m the one asking the questions here,” said Ho. “You’re the one answering. You’re the government.”
