Jewish group raises foreign agent concerns after synagogue shooting arrests
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs applauds York Regional Police after it arrested the third and final suspect in a string of GTA synagogue shootings, but raised concerns over foreign meddling.
York Regional Police have arrested and charged a third suspect in connection with a string of Synagogue shootings in Toronto and Vaughan in March. Jewish advocacy groups applaud the arrest, but are raising questions about foreign governments potentially funding the violence.
Police arrested and charged 23-year-old Barrie resident Chris Perreira with several firearms- and vandalism-related offences stemming from the March incidents. The other two suspects, arrested in May, an 18-year-old of no fixed address and a 17-year-old from Waterloo, have not been named because they were minors at the time of the shootings.
