Alberta lawyer Jeffrey Rath has responded to having millions in assets frozen by a provincial judge amid an ongoing court battle with the Tallcree First Nation, saying it’s part of an appeal, which was filed after a “very successful outcome.”

Last week, Rath and his professional corporation had $8.5 million in assets frozen after Alberta Court of King’s Bench Justice Marion granted an interim Mareva order.
